Lex gave Wild Bear a golden shield, then he went off happily. Even the two grand swordmasters could not toss a javelin and cause effective lethality from a distance of more than one-hundred yards. Wild Bear’s divine strength might be inferior to that of Sika’s, but he was already considered special among other humans.
Jola could achieve such a feat as well, but Lex would never allow Saleen’s subordinates to go into a battle first. Jola was more effective against a team of people after all.
I thought that such a setting only existed in books.
Saleen had a lingering fear. It was not really possible for a spatial passageway to appear in a person’s body, it would only exist in air. If a spatial passageway appeared around a person’s body, it would be fairly dangerous. This was a unidirectional passageway without any elemental vibrations whatsoever, if some scary creature appeared suddenly, one would not even be able to react in time.
There is a chance this might happen. The materials in that Sindika’s body are exceptionally precious. Do you know, even a person like Joey would not be able to enter the abyssal plane?
Saleen laughed, then said,
Don’t worry about me, I will regard this as a hunt. There is an assortment of strong and weak creatures. The strong ones would be like the Sindika. After passing through a narrow spatial passageway, it is already exhausted by the time it arrives on the Myers mainland. The weak ones would be like that magic bug.
Saleen pointed out the window, as the magic bug had been squashed into a pulp by Wild Bear’s skeletal warhorse.
A skeletal warhorse was of a higher grade than a skeletal soldier, but it was merely a grade-3 creature. A few swordsmen could deal with it. The magic bug which got trampled on by the skeletal warhorse had pathetic speed and poor defense.
It is indeed a pretty good hunting ground. No matter what direction we travel in, we will not be able to leave. We can only wait for the chaotic space to disappear.
Lex glanced at the sky once more. It was gray and dull, and the sun was nowhere to be seen.
Sika looked at the Sindika in a dismal way. She had met yet another creature which she could not defeat, she was definitely weaker than the Sindika. The Sindika was about fifty yards in height, as tall as a nine story magical tower. If Sika’s cudgel transformed into its second form, it could only break the Sindika’s surface flesh. It would not be able to hurt its muscles and bones.
The surface area of the Sindika’s body was too huge, and he had immense explosive power. No human could withstand his attacks.
Humans possessed equipment however. Wild Bear dashed for over two-hundred yards. After securing the golden shield, he then removed the twelve pole javelins from his back. The head of this kind of javelin was crafted from stainless steel and sharpened by scrap crystals, while the edge was filled with a variety of crystals. As for the shield, Wild Bear only wanted to obtain a higher grade one from Lex. It would be impossible to use it to resist the Sindika’s attack.
Since the hardness of a crystal was extremely high, the biggest advantage of a crystal was that it could be used to help the javelin penetrate an elemental shield.
After accelerating for the last two-hundred yards, the skeletal warhorse was now traveling faster than a mage blessed with the Windspeed Skill. Wild Bear’s equestrianism was average, but the skeletal warhorse itself had outstanding speed. Tapping in on the sprinting force of the warhorse, Wild Bear tossed three javelins simultaneously. His thick hand was abnormally agile, as he swiftly removed another three javelins from his back.
The javelins flew towards the Sindika, producing sounds of air bursting.
The Sindika felt very melancholic. If he was not injured, he could easily destroy those javelins by launching a simple spell. Now that he had lost all magic, he could only resist them using his physical body.
He felt regretful of following the Mechanical Soul. When the Mechanical Soul escaped, he should have seized the opportunity to flee, and not pursue it in hopes of getting some benefits by devouring those humans. That tiny human was extremely sly by attacking from over a hundred yards away, making him unable to retaliate.
Wild Bear launched consecutive assaults, tossing all twelve javelins.
The bulky body of the Sindika wriggled a little, causing huge amounts of blood to gush out. More than twenty gigantic scales grew out of its muscles swiftly. Wild Bear’s javelins pierced in ferociously, getting stuck in those scales.
The scales were about one foot thick. Wild Bear’s javelins could penetrate those scales because they were newly grown, their toughness was still inadequate. Be that as it may, Wild Bear’s strength was also part of it.
The javelins stabbed the Sindika’s body, giving off humming noises. The sharp blades of the javelins had been sharpened by crystals before, but the sharpening was only confined to the blade, the other portions were only made from stainless steel. The blood of the Sindika possessed great corrosiveness, so it swiftly eroded Wild Bear’s javelins.
Twelve javelins crashed to the ground, as Wild Bear turned around and fled.
Nailisi narrowed her eyes, then told Saleen,
Master, look, the blood cannot corrode the black sand.
Saleen took a glance. Indeed, the blood which landed on the ground did not corrode the surrounding black sand, even though the corrosiveness of the Sindika’s blood was even stronger than that of a demon.
The black sand surely had some special attributes. Saleen glanced at Lex, then Lex said,
Let’s take care of this creature first, then we can collect the sand.
She also knew that such sand might only be present in a chaotic space. If all the black sand in the Purgatory Desert behaved in this manner, it was likely that humans would have entered the desert in a frenzy and collected it.
The effects of this black sand on equipment refinement was not clear yet. There were many materials which were resistant to corrosion after all. If a material was used to construct a military installation, then it would take on a whole new life.
Many spells contained strong corrosive abilities, especially area spells. Mages rarely took part in invasions, but if they did, they would definitely use such spells to destroy the walls of a city. If a city’s walls were made with this black sand, then there would be an additional defensive attribute to them.
Lex’s God’s Ring was a godly equipment, it had no problems storing an infinite number of items. Saleen would definitely have to calculate how much black sand his Dimension Stone could carry though. Even though the space in a Dimension Stone was huge, it was still finite.
Wild Bear ran back, he did not dare get close to the Sindika. The Sindika also did not dare pursue Wild Bear, as Wild Bear had too many tricks up his sleeve. The Sindika could only use his body to battle, so he had no confidence.
As a result, Saleen and the rest witnessed a strange scene unfold before them. As Wild Bear rode on horseback escaping, the Sindika twisted its plump body around, trying to flee in the opposite direction.
Do we chase?
Saleen asked, because the direction the Sindika was escaping was into the area of rainfall. It was highly likely that an astronomical number of fish beasts had appeared in the area of rainfall.
Let’s observe further.
Lex alighted from the chariot, before taking out dozens of pieces of alchemical equipment for the swordmasters to assemble. The equipment turned out to be a large alchemical crossbow.
This alchemical crossbow had a width of about eight yards. Even with the effect of a magic array and the gears, a skeletal warhorse was still needed to pull the bowstring. After the large alchemical crossbow was put in place, another black hole had appeared in the vicinity. This time around, a fish with flames covering its body emerged from the hole.
Despite having read countless books in the past, Lex and Saleen still could not identify which plane the fish originated from.
No one really cared though.
A swordmaster raised his hand, about to fire an arrow using his miniature alchemical crossbow. The arrows Lex had given them were all sharpened with crystals. This arrow made the flaming fish explode, causing flames to spill across the ground.
Ah ha! Cuisi, you guys go attack.
Noticing that the flaming fish was so weak, Nailisi deployed the four demons who had yet to board the chariot. The reason was simple. When the flaming fish exploded, a shiny magic nucleus also fell into the dust at the same time. There were more flaming fish charging out of that passageway.
Judging by the size and purity of that magic nucleus, it was definitely at an intermediate level. The flaming fish was at least a grade-4 creature. After passing through the passageway, their powers were reduced, so Lex’s swordmaster could kill them easily.
Lex simply cackled, she did not try to compete with Nailisi, because the arrows used by the swordmasters were quite costly. Lex also had noticed that the alchemical arrow itself had become charred after exploding the flaming fish and the arrow head was completely destroyed. Even if this alchemical arrow was shot into steel, it could still be plucked out for reuse, otherwise Lex would not be so willing to produce them in large quantities.
The four demons lunged at the black hole, stopping near it, then they took out their own weapons. Cuisi’s whip was curled near the opening of the hole, pulling out a flaming fish. The other three demons flogged this fish using their weapons, causing it to explode.
Even if the power of these flaming fish was not decreased, they still would not be able to match up to the four demons. The diameter of this black hole expanded gradually, while the flaming fish which emerged became increasingly stronger. In the end, the flaming fish which Cuisi drew out had a length of over four yards, and the consequent magic nucleus which dropped out was already that of level-6.
Nailisi decided to exit the chariot, she came beside the four demons and began collecting the magic nuclei. Other than a magic nucleus, the resultant flames from the explosion also yielded pieces of hard objects. They were like bones and metals.
Five-hundred yards away, another black hole appeared in mid-air. This hole only had a diameter of about one yard, and a large snake dozen of yards long slithered out. After this snake emerged, it began shedding its skin.
Eh? A creature from the subcontinent plane!
Lex was extremely astonished. The spatial passageways appearing in this chaotic space were so complicated, they could connect to any planes. The subcontinent plane referred to a place which resembled the Myers mainland, just that this plane was smaller, and had more than one kind of intelligent species.
There were humans on the subcontinent plane too. When humans from the Myers mainland first arrived on the subcontinent plane, they found that the humans there were really weak and small. Without giving much thought, they called this place the subcontinent place, which meant that it was a place inferior to the Myers mainland.
On the subcontinent plane, humans were not the masters. All kinds of intelligent creatures were gathered on one plane, depending on each other for survival. The magic beasts on the subcontinent plane were very mighty. Long ago, humans from the Myers mainland loved to go there for hunting trips. High grade magic beasts were everywhere, they could not be wiped out. As a result, the subcontinent plane became a good location for humans to obtain high level magic nuclei.
A human youth suddenly emerged from this same black hole. This human was clad in exquisite silver armor and wielded a short sword. He was obviously very fatigued after coming out from the black hole as he simply fell to the ground. Seeing that there was a giant snake shedding its skin up ahead, he was actually helpless.
Nailisi saw an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. That giant snake could be a high grade magic beast, and it was extremely frail at the moment. With a stride covering dozens of yards, Nailisi had appeared behind the snake in the blink of an eye. With a dagger in hand, Nailisi stabbed the side of the snake’s body.
That youth who emerged from the black hole hollered. Nailisi could tell that he meant no harm, he was simply reminding her to be careful. Nailisi turned around and smiled at the youth, then she raised her Dragon’s Tooth Dagger.
When that youth saw Nailisi’s smile, he was momentarily stunned.
Nailisi did not wear any armor, she only wore a fitting soft armor which Saleen crafted specially for her. On the outside, she was dressed in a style similar to her original one. She wore a long dress, with the only additional accessory being the pair of boots which had been made from a dragon’s muscles and skin.
Nailisi’s smile was extremely captivating. The youth immediately forgot about the present danger as his mind had went into a flurry.
