What were the Cloudflow people doing here? This was what Lex wanted to find out.
The Holy See already occupied half of Titan Duchy and the Cloudflow people didn’t retaliate. They had deployed warships to the rear of my Daliang City instead.

Based on her instincts, Lex felt that this was not a good thing.
Nicholas’ white beard quivered, as his eyelids jumped. He told Lex,
Your Highness, this prophecy spell cannot be used recklessly. If used incorrectly, it will be harmful for you.
Lex listened quietly, so Nicholas continued,
The prophecy spell isn’t the same ability as what an astrologer would use. An astrologer would rely on the constellations to predict the progression of future events. A prophecy spell uses the power of the gods to roughly calculate the events which might happen in the future. This prophecy will sometimes undergo changes.

Which means that it has the same effect as a contract?

No, but… let’s just assume you use a magic attack to attack a person and you are only fifty percent sure of striking them. Under the effect of a prophecy spell, this chance will be increased to eighty percent, or even one-hundred percent. If a person falls sick, they will have a chance of dying and if the prophecy says that they will die, then this possibility will be infinitely close to reality. This thing cannot be regarded as a genuine prophecy, it is dangerous.

No wonder, I heard that a large prophecy spell can kill someone directly, is that what you mean?

It’s about there. Your Highness, without using the prophecy spell, you will know whether it is a good thing that the Cloudflow people are here. Cloudflow would have sent an envoy group to Holy Rock City already otherwise.

Nicholas, you are right. You know what, don’t leave first, you shall disguise yourself as a mage. Return to Metatrin City after the Cloudflow’s envoy group has left,
Lex requested.

Yes Your Highness, but please send a letter to Sir to inform him of my itinerary.

Mm, I will.
Lex furrowed her brows, then she ordered people to send a letter to Metatrin City. Instinctively, she felt that the Cloudflow people were up to no good, but she could not turn a blind eye to it. At sea, her fleet would not be able to resist an assault by Cloudflow’s fleet.
Covering a distance of two-hundred miles, the Cloudflow’s envoy group took three days to reach Daliang City. At this speed, they were as slow as a tortoise. There was a total of more than six-hundred people in the envoy group traveling in more than three-hundred large chariots, accompanied by over five-hundred horses, as they dawdled. This actually gave Lex a lot of time to make preparations.
There were two seven-story magical towers within Daliang City, while there was one six-story magical tower outside the city. Lex had sufficient mages with her and she was also accompanied by Nicholas and Su. Relying on the God’s Ring, Lex was not afraid of the Cloudflow people trying anything funny.
Daliang City was a complementary capital to the Bitter Water County, all the administrative facilities there were complete. Lex’s Bitter Water Prefecture was a city which groomed mages for her, she rarely went back.
The envoy group stayed in the hotel in an orderly fashion and they sent people to deliver a letter to the city owner’s residence. Daliang City had a city owner and the city owner would hand the letter to Lex, who was staying in the palace.
When Lex received the letter, she flew into a rage after reading the contents, then she immediately went into deep thought.

There is no point being angry. Judging by the contents of the letter, the Cloudflow Emperor wants to do something that is definitely beneficial for Cloudflow and that is not weird. That emperor wants to marry me and thus devour the entire Bitter Water County? The Cloudflow people have underestimated me, even though Father has passed on, I am not a mindless pawn!

The letter personally penned by the Cloudflow Emperor was very straightforward. In the letter, Emperor Agares had personally asked Lex to get ready to wait for the arrival of the marriage envoy from the Cloudflow Empire.
And… that was it.
The Cloudflow emperor wanted to marry Lex, and Lex would be made empress.
This was an outright forced marriage, Lex was enraged for less than a minute before suppressing her anger. She instructed people to place this letter in a box and deliver it to Metatrin City. Thereafter, she ordered her subordinates to seal the palace and claim that she had fallen ill. She did not want to meet the Cloudflow’s envoy.
Cloudflow’s envoy made many consecutive requests to meet Lex, but was rejected. The envoy did not get angry, he only asked people to tell Lex that Emperor Agares would deploy a colossal entourage in November to marry her.
Then, this six-hundredman envoy group stayed put in Daliang City, totally ignoring Lex’s reactions.
Three days later, Lex received Saleen’s reply. There were only two rows of words in the letter.
The first row; ‘kill the entire envoy group’.
The second row; ‘I will arrive in October, ask Nicholas to stay put’.

Reading the letter, Lex burst out in laughter, then she immediately ordered a camp of soldiers to seal the hotel. No one could leave the hotel anymore. She then led two grade-7 sorcerers, Su, and Nicholas, to the hotel.
The deployment of troops from Daliang City startled the Cloudflow’s envoy group. This envoy group had five-hundred cavalrymen, while the remaining over one-hundred people were servants who served the envoy. Protecting the envoy was a grade-7 sorcerer and a Black Metal Grand Swordmaster. This envoy was an earl in the palace, after arriving in Daliang City, he acted as if he was the boss around there.
Being surrounded abruptly, the envoy was not afraid at all. He instead walked out of the hotel in an imposing manner, wanting to lecture the soldiers who had besieged the hotel.
The moment his head popped out, dozens of feather arrows flew over. The sorcerer behind immediately blessed the envoy with a Magic Shield, causing the feather arrows to fall to the ground.

Atrocious! Get your commander to come out, are you all tired of living?

Answering him were more than one-hundred fireballs. Even though the sorcerer could ensure his safety, the hundreds of soldiers behind were killed. Thereafter, the piercing sound released by an alchemical crossbow filled the air, causing the sorcerer and Black Metal Grand Swordmaster to be petrified. They were no fools, they immediately realized that the soldiers outside were not putting up an act, the soldiers were trying to exterminate them.

Lex, you bitch! His Majesty will burn your county to ash, just you wait…

The Black Metal Grand Swordmaster knocked the envoy unconscious. Exchanging glances with the sorcerer, they retreated into the depths of the hotel. It was meaningless to disseminate threats at the moment, it was more important to escape from the back street.

Trying to leave?
Lex’s voice descended from the sky, Lex was accompanied by two grade-7 sorcerers. Su had somehow entered the hotel as he tried to slash the Black Metal Grand Swordmaster.
When the Black Metal Grand Swordmaster saw Su, his pupils contracted urgently, as the sorcerer next to him released the Earth Shards. Hundreds of stone shards rushed out of the ground, thrashing towards Su’s body.

A silver Sword Aura suddenly exploded, but a bolt of black brilliance descended from the sky and struck the sorcerer’s Magic Shield. Getting hit by the black brilliance, the level-7 shield immediately dissipated. Immediately after, two gigantic fireballs appeared. These fireballs were blue in color and had two blurred human faces on them.
There was a proverb in the world of mages; ‘a mage who only knew how to cast fireballs was not a good mage’. These two fireballs had obviously surpassed the limits the proverb was referring to though. After Faerun had advanced to a grade-7 sorcerer, the fireballs cast by him were highly similar to these two fireballs.
Due to the legacy left behind by Lex’s teacher, mages belonging to this school had already mastered the Fireball spell thoroughly.
The Magic Shield of the Cloudflow’s sorcerer was broken, but he had already charged into the sky and a second Magic Shield had appeared on his body instantly. That was a spell stored in his magic robe, it could be cast instantaneously.
When the fireballs struck the shield, they began burning vigorously, then the two grade-7 sorcerers gave chase.
Lex simply snorted at the Black Metal Grand Swordmaster below her as a golden ray of light penetrated the Sword Aura protecting him. For the first time the Black Metal Grand Swordmaster realized that his Sword Aura had been completely quashed without any warning whatsoever. Su’s longsword had already destroyed the sorcerer’s earth spell. Trailed by a vibrant brilliance, Su’s longsword penetrated the Black Metal Grand Swordmaster’s mouth.
Within Su’s sword’s radiance, the Black Metal Grand Swordmaster’s brain turned into a pile of bloody mush. Su’s technique was ruthless, the enemy never had a chance.
He had experienced such a combat technique many times. Lex’s family’s secret arts could cause the enemy’s Sword Aura to be destroyed, then Su used his Sword Aura to crush the enemy’s brain instantly. No matter how powerful the enemy’s swordsmanship was, they would not be able to resist Su’s attack after losing their Sword Aura suddenly.
If this technique was unleashed by the late Emperor Chanake, Su would not even need to take any action. Anyone below the grade of a Golden Grand Swordmaster would not be able to block a blow from Emperor Chanake. Lex’s secret art was undeveloped yet, it was not as ferocious as her father’s.
The Cloudflow sorcerer, who was burning from head to toe, was flying faster than what Lex had expected. Trailed by cyan flames, he was almost out of the hotel. The two sorcerers at the back could not catch up. Nevertheless, they were not very anxious because the Magic Shield would not be able to withstand two fireballs. The flames had already breached the shield, the Cloudflow sorcerer was simply struggling on his last breath.

Nicholas was afraid of any mishaps. From afar, he pointed at the flying Cloudflow sorcerer, then hollered,
Stop!

Seven colossal black holy prose flashed once above the sorcerer’s head before disappearing. It rendered his flying spell ineffective, then the sorcerer crashed towards the ground. The two pursuing sorcerers cast two Fire Serpent spells without any hesitation.
Hundreds of fire serpents charged out of the ground, enveloping the Cloudflow sorcerer.
Other than flames, the fire serpents also had physical attack abilities. The sound of bones fracturing filled the air, as the Cloudflow sorcerer screamed in excruciation while being encompassed in flames.
In a short span of a few dozen seconds, Lex and the people she brought along had destroyed the main power of the envoy group effortlessly. The Cloudflow emperor would never expect his sorcerer and Black Metal Grand Swordmaster to be so weak in Daliang City.
By now, the envoy had already woken up, he was captured by the soldiers rushing into the hotel and was brought before Lex. He noticed that the hotel was surrounded by flames while the Black Metal Grand Swordmaster was lying on the ground without a brain and all that shouting outside had ceased. Without any warhorses, those five-hundred Cloudflow warriors could not even hold out for a minute when they were assaulted by Lex’s elite troops. Eventually their bodies were covered in arrows shot from all the bows and crossbows.
The earl laughed icily as he looked at Lex without any fear, then said,
The boldness of you. Kill me and His Majesty will obliterate your county.

I am very afraid.
Lex cackled sarcastically, then gestured for a squad of soldiers to enter. Lex ordered,
Go and conduct a search, check if anyone has escaped. Capture anyone from Cloudflow, if they resist, just kill them on the spot!
