Chapter 65: Quirky bar

"What are you doing?" The grim-faced old man glared at the boy at the door, and said viciously.
Matthew was almost taken aback, he stammered and replied:
"Sir... I heard... You have... Butterbeer?"
The disfigured old man, scrutinized Matthew, and continued for ten seconds
"Come in!" he said coldly, and then opened the door of the cabin.
Matthew Wickfield can finally take a serious look at the interior of the "Pig Head Bar".
This is a small, dark and very dirty room.
Thick dirt accumulated on the bay windows, coupled with the frost on the glass, the outside light was almost impenetrable, as if a curtain were drawn; only by some candle heads lit on the rough wooden table, Barely lighting.
The ground is even more messy. At first glance, I thought the ground was compacted mud, but when I stepped on it, I discovered that the ground that was originally paved with stones had almost accumulated dirt for centuries.
There is no doubt that this bar is not a decent place.
"What are you looking at?" The old man looked at Matthew suspiciously and asked coldly.
"I just listened to Professor Bathilda Bagshot in the "History of Magic" class...Your bar was once the headquarters of the Goblin Rebellion in 1612..." Matthew said slowly.
While speaking, he glanced at the old man's eyes "unintentionally".
But unfortunately, when he mentioned the name Bathilda Bagshot, the old man's expression did not fluctuate in any way; besides, his eyes were not as sky blue as he thought.
"That all happened centuries ago!" The old man said disdainfully: "What do you need, butter beer or flame whiskey?"
   "Butter beer!" Matthew said.
The old man turned and left, and Matthew also began to look around him curiously.
  ……
There is no doubt that the bar in this bar is full of people who teach and teach.
There are not many guests, only three to five, and the environment is relatively quiet.
A witch with a thick black scarf hanging down to her feet, a witch whose head is almost covered by a thick cloak; in short, she doesn't look like a serious person.
Matthew looked at the back of the disfigured old man, and thought secretly--
In the original book, the male host at the Pig's Head Bar is the real identity of Albus Dumbledore’s younger brother, Aberforth. He also kept his name incognito, collecting information for his brother in this bar.
Then, this disfigured old man, how could it be Aberforth Dumbled?
After all, his appearance is completely different from the Aberforth in his memory.
Just as Matthew was thinking about it, the hostess already came over with a slow glass of butter beer.
Butter beer is actually not real beer, but a drink made of cream, butter, and brown sugar; therefore, it is so popular with Hogwarts students.
"Sir." When the host put the butterbeer heavily in front of Matthew, Matthew asked softly, "I don't know what to call you?"
   "Percival!" the hostess said coldly.
This is not a rare surname. Percival is one of the most famous knights of the Round Table in the "Legend of King Arthur". Together with Galahad and Bowes, he is known as the Three Knights of the Holy Grail. He is very famous in Wales and even the whole of England.
Matthew frowned slightly, then he continued to ask:
"Then Mr. Percival, how long have you been in charge of this bar?"
Only this time, Matthew did not get a reply.
The hostess with a hideous face suddenly looked at Matthew coldly and asked viciously:
   "Are you interrogating me, kid?"
   "……"
Matthew quickly defended: "No, I'm just interested in the history of your bar..."
It’s just that the hostess has quickly pulled out his wand and pointed it at Matthew:
   "Say, who sent you here?"
The strange-looking wizards and wizards around are still drinking their Butterbeer or Fire Whiskey, as if they hadn't seen the conflict here.
   "No, no! I'm just...a Hogwarts...first-year student..."
Just when Matthew stuttered the explanation--
   "Matthew!"
The door of the pig’s head bar was pushed open, and then a familiar voice came.
  ……
It is Horace Slughorn, this bald old man who is as fat as a sea elephant, standing outside the door with a beautiful smile.
Then, he glanced at the dirty floor with disgust, and walked in.
"Why are you here?" Professor Slughorn looked at Matthew and asked loudly.
The hostess who had just been vicious, has already put away his wand without knowing it.
"I...I just heard that this bar used to be the headquarters of the Goblin Rebellion in 1612. So come and have a look." Matthew was relieved and quickly explained.
"Oh, okay!" Slughorn grabbed Matthew's hand, and he said wittily: "The records in history books ~ EbookFREE.me ~ often deviate from reality."
   "Yes, sir!" Matthew nodded.
"Let's go, this kind of place is not our place!" He shook his head at Matthew: "Thanks to the fact that I was outside the window just now and saw you..."
Matthew was forcibly pulled from the table by Slughorn.
"A glass of Butterbeer, three Sicos!" the hostess said roughly.
Matthew was just about to take money out of his pocket, but Slughorn had already taken out a few silver coins and placed them on the dirty table.
"Let's get out of here soon!" Then he urged.
Matthew had to follow Professor Slughorn and hurriedly left the pig's head bar.
  ……
once again came to the bustling Central Avenue.
"Professor." Matthew asked hurriedly: "You just said that the pig's head bar is not where we should stay?"
"Of course!" Slughorn explained: "That kind of place is not a place for serious people to go; a little guy like you, if I hadn't just passed by, would have been eaten and wiped out. What's going on..."
"...If you want to drink some butter beer, I recommend two broomsticks. Both the environment and the taste are better!"
Slughorn said enthusiastically: "Go, let's have a drink together?"
   "Of course, Professor." Matthew nodded.
  ……
And when Matthew followed Slughorn, he had just left the Pig's Head Bar.
The witch who was wrapped in a thick black scarf hanging down to her feet also hurriedly paid the bill and walked out.
Then, she quietly followed the steps of the old and young in front.
