Chapter 694: Revolution No-Scope Sniping!
On School’s rooftop.
Shroud, the rifler of team C9, unloaded firepower onto the buggy that was obviously looking for a fight.
Three players had touched down at School. Two of them were in the lecture hall, and one of them was in the swimming pool complex next door.
Shroud was the ‘valedictorian’ who survived. He had noticed Liu Zilang as soon as the latter neared the location.
He had made his way to the rooftop while Liu Zilang was making laps around the School. Naturally, he did not hold back and opened fire at the buggy.
As for Liu Zilang, seeing his opponent open fire, it was exactly what he had hoped for them to do.
Swish swish swish~!
Splat!
Amidst the bullets that poured like rain, two spouts of blood appeared on Liu Zilang’s body.
He rammed the buggy into the wall that surrounded School and parked it there before swiftly jumping off.
A grin appeared on his face as he healed himself while sticking close to the wall.
He was not afraid of being hit. Rather, he would have been more worried if the opponent had not opened fire at him.
After restoring his health, he lobbed a smoke grenade toward the School’s back entrance and then dashed straight inside!
Wow! Direct confrontation? Isn’t Vic being a little too reckless this time?
Well, solo tournaments are all about personal skill. It’s fine to be reckless once in a while.
You have to remember that his opponent is the Demon King Shroud! I think something will happen soon!
In the match, Shroud was also a little surprised when he saw Liu Zilang storm the building in great strides.
He turned around and sprayed a thin coat of bullets across the smokescreen.
Suddenly, a flash was seen from within the smokescreen. A string of bullets had been fired at him!
Shroud’s heart thumped.
He retreated from the edge of the rooftop quickly.
‘That guy’s a tough nut to crack!’ he exclaimed in his heart.
His opponent dared to expose himself at the edge of the smokescreen. It meant that his opponent was confident in suppressing him with his gun skills.
In reality, his opponent had succeeded.
For a short instant, the thought of avoiding battle and strategically retreating to another location had surfaced in his mind.
However, he eliminated that thought as soon as it surfaced.
In a solo tournament, the number of opportunities to use tactics and operations were infinitesimally reduced. Each competitor only had their own confidence and skills to carry them through.
Once a player started to lose confidence in themselves, their lifespan in the solo match would not be very long. Confidence once again flashed in Shroud’s eyes.
Thud thud thud!
Rustle rustle!
Liu Zilang arrived on the third floor of School. Both Shroud and he listened to their footsteps. The air around them was cold and it was as if it was frozen.
Liu Zilang, who was at the corner of the hallway, squinted as he looked at the stairs that led to the rooftop in front of him.
He held his AK tight in his hands, its muzzle was always pointed toward the door from which sunlight shone through.
He no longer heard his opponent’s footsteps. However, Liu Zilang was sure that he was just beyond the door.
He took another step forward!
The next instant, a silhouette appeared above him. It was just as he had expected. Light flashed from the muzzle of that person’s gun.
Liu Zilang also had quick reflexes!
Once he saw the muzzle of his opponent’s gun flash, he immediately raised his AK and sprayed in front of him.
Both of them were top-tier professional players. Evidently, they would not shoot straight while holding down their left mouse buttons.
Right after Liu Zilang had delivered a spray of bullets, he immediately took a step backward. Shroud did the same.
Thud thud!
Blood spurted out from their bodies.
It was not pragmatic for Liu Zilang to rush up the rooftop since he had found out his opponent’s position.
Shortly after, a frag grenade appeared in his hand. He lobbed it upward after cooking it in his hand for a while.
Shroud’s perception was sharp. He retreated from the door once he heard Liu Zilang swap to a grenade.
Boom!
A ball of fire appeared along with thick smoke!
Ah! Sigh, too bad he missed!
Nothing can be done about it. The sound of a grenade pin being pulled is very obvious when the surrounding environment is quiet. If you don’t cook it in your hand, it’s also easy for your opponent to get away. It’s too difficult to kill someone here with a frag grenade.
So what will Vic do now? Will he take the opportunity of his opponent retreating to rush up the stairs?
In the game, Vic saw that his grenade had no effect, but he did not rush upstairs recklessly.
You only lived once in a solo tournament. There was no Ancestral Glory armor that could revive you either. Once you died, it was game over.
Liu Zilang pondered about the situation on the rooftop and then suddenly had an idea.
He unarmed his weapon and then turned around before running into a random room along the third-floor hallway.
‘Is he giving up already?’
Shroud furrowed his brows when he heard the footsteps coming from below him.
Immediately after, he stemmed to have thought of something. With hurried footsteps, he walked toward the rooftop railing that overlooked the back entrance of School.
Where had Liu Zilang gone?
From God’s perspective on the caster’s camera.
Liu Zilang was seen running into a room on the third floor. He leaped out of one of the windows.
However, he did not fall to the ground. Instead, he landed on a canopy that protruded from the back entrance of School.
Shroud’s incredible skill in terms of listening and discerning an enemy’s positions was displayed at that instance.
He managed to zero in on Liu Zilang’s actual position just by listening to footsteps.
Evidently, Liu Zilang’s objective was to throw a frag grenade from behind in hopes of catching his opponent unaware. He realized that his opponent had figured out his trick when he heard the footsteps from above.
Immediately, he stuck close to the wall.
Just as expected, Shroud peeked out from the rooftop railings and fired a volley of bullets at Liu Zilang who was under him.
Fortunately, Liu Zilang’s reflexes were fast enough as he managed to hide from his opponent’s line of fire!
Another perilous sequence of events!
The live audience members and live stream viewers were glued to the screen as they watched the two professionals duel in a battle of wits and skill.
Some of them did not even dare breath, they were afraid of missing out on something interesting.
It seemed like the two players had entered a stalemate.
It has to be mentioned that the canopy was a ninety-degree plunge from the rooftop.
Unless Shroud had mastered the legendary ‘gun-kata’ martial arts technique that allowed his bullets to bend, he could not hit Liu Zilang.
If they wanted to fight, he would have to climb on top of the rooftop railings or jump down.
That would mean Liu Zilang would be able to hit him too.
Shroud thought for a bit. Then, he swapped to a frag grenade.
Without cooking it! Shroud hopped on the spot as soon as the frag grenade appeared in his hands and then threw it lightly over the railing.
After waiting for a split second, he swapped to his rifle and then climbed over the railing.
Just as the grenade appeared over his head, Liu Zilang swapped to his Kar98k and ran toward the edge of the canopy.
With a heave, he leaped.
He spun around in midair and then shot from the hip at Shroud who was on the rooftop!
Revolution No-Scope Sniping!
Bang!
The clarion cry of a sniper rang out.
The live audience members and live stream viewers cried out in surprise!
On the big screen of the tournament, a cloud of blood was seen on Shroud’s head as soon as he climbed up the railing.
He fell, and half of his body was suspended over the railing.
4AM-Vic killed C9-Shroud by headshot with Kar98K!
4 Kills!
