Chapter 634

: Blind

It wasn’t the first time that a pointer had landed on a line. After all, the wheel stopped at random, so even the lines were within the pointer’s landing range.
However, it was still rare for someone to be in Lu Li’s situation, where the pointer landed on a line between the best and worst item.
Once the end result of the wheel was in effect, it wouldn’t give you another chance to spin again. The system would reward you based on which side the pointer leaned towards.
It was hard to tell which side the pointer leaned on with the naked eye, so Lu Li could only wait anxiously.
It was no wonder why the wheel was often seen as the most exciting mini game in Dawn.
Lu Li stared at the first empty spot in his bag which was where the reward would appear.
Suddenly, a card flashed in the space and Lu Li’s heart dropped as he gasped for air.
It was a kitten card! Players could obtain a non-battle purpose kitten pet after using it.
Lu Li could only imagine how happy his sister would be as she cuddled the kitten. Even if he died here, the trip to the ruin would still be worthwhile.
On level three, the monsters increased by five levels again. Lu Li couldn’t one-shot them anymore, but fortunately, this wasn’t a requirement for his assassin gear – he just had to kill monsters within a certain amount of time. Without a doubt, Lu Li received another SSS grade. After he killed the semi-Boss, the wheel appeared again.
After he obtained the grey kitten, Lu Li became much calmer. He felt like he wouldn’t lose his composure anymore, no matter what he saw. Of course, after he saw two of the items that could be won in the next eight boxes, he took in a sharp breath.
Blind skill book.
This was a control skill for Thieves and was also a skill that he urgently needed. He had obtained one last time with Water Fairy, but had given it away.
It was rare for this skill book to appear in the auctions, and often disappeared as quickly as it was put up for sale. Moreover, its typical asking price was a thousand gold coins. Plenty of Thieves were willing to give up all of their wealth for a copy of this skill book.
Blind was a good item, but compared to the Flame of Ragnaros, it was nothing.
Ragnaros was the king of Flames and the Fire Elemental Lord that symbolized rage and destruction, like the flames of hell that created Azeroth.
In order to protect the ancient god that he believed in, Ragnaros led an army alongside three other elemental lords: Therazane the Stonemother, Al’Akir the Windlord and Neptulon the Tidehunter to fight against the Titans. In the end, they were defeated and trapped in the Elemental Plane.
After many years passed, when the elemental lords had faded out from Azeroth, the war between the three hammers erupted amongst the Dwarves.
The Dark Iron Dwarves started the war, but they couldn’t hold up against the alliance army of the Ironforge and Wildhammer Dwarves. In order to gain victory, the defeated King Thaurissan began to summon powerful elemental creatures. Unfortunately, they summoned one of the strongest existences in the Elemental Plane: Firelord Ragnaros!
Although the summoner himself was torn into pieces, the rage of the Firelord didn’t stop there. Ragnaros tore apart the Redridge and his great might shook the earth. A volcano was pulled up from the ruins as a result and became the volcano that connected the Searing Gorge and the Burning Steppes — the Blackrock Spire.
The Dark Iron Dwarves paid a heavy price for their stupidity and became slaves to the Fire Elementals.
After sleeping for thousands of years under the ground, Ragnaros gained more power, enough to surpass any race. Anyone who dared to challenge him was destroyed and any place that he passed by was set ablaze. The Redridge was turned into ashes and its remains formed Blackrock Mountain and the Molten Core.
Ragnaros was the final boss for a 40-man, level 60 raid dungeon.
Lu Li was used to playing as a solo player in his previous life and didn’t even have a team to enter dungeons, let alone a raid like the Molten Core. The Molten Core really required a good team; it wasn’t a dungeon that a team of randoms could take down.
Dawn wasn’t a game that someone could play by themselves. In this life, Lu Li vowed to see these giant raids with his own eyes and to gain victory over them.
Either way, it was strange for the Flame of Ragnaros to appear on level 3.
The Flame of Ragnaros wasn’t an equip, but rather an enchantment-type item. However, after it enchanted an equip, it didn’t provide any attributes or special effects. It had one purpose – it covered the weapon in flames.
Flame of Ragnaros (Special): Sets your main weapon or off-hand weapon ablaze by the Flames of Ragnaros.
Cool! It was super cool!
Among all the items in Dawn, the rich players never really hungered for strong and useful equips. They wanted these useless, but special and strange things.
There were other items which could provide a similar effect, but none of them were as good as the Flame of Ragnaros.
Most importantly, the level of difficulty to obtain this item was insane.
No matter how cool an item was, if it was everywhere on the streets, it would lose its attractiveness.. However, it your item was unique, or at least very rare, it would make you stand out from the crowd.
There was also another box that contained an extra skill point. The other five boxes contained level 30 Silver grade equips. None of these were useful for Lu Li, but they were good enough to be sold to compensate for his gear maintenance fee.
He thought for a bit and felt like this ruin was probably like a dungeon; the First Clear always gave better things.
The ruin was located in an isolated area; the Hinterlands weren’t a popular map to begin with. The monsters in the forests were high-leveled, so it was hard for average players to even reach this place. He could almost be certain that he was the first visitor to this ruin.
Lu Li looked deeply at the Flame of Ragnaros before he spun the big wheel.
Hopefully it wouldn’t be a Silver equipment. Lu Li smiled bitterly; it was hard for him to believe that he would be lucky again. Fate had never really stood on his side.
That’s why there’s a saying that you could earn luck through charity.
While his thoughts drifted, the wheel had already reached a stop. The pointer landed on the box of a skill book, very far away from the Flame of Ragnaros.
That was fine too.
Lu Li was never the type to be a showoff; he wasn’t going to use something like the Flame of Ragnaros anyway.
As for selling the item for money…
Greed was a deadly poison. With Blind, he would have something extra up his sleeve when he battled against other players in the future.
Blind: Instant cast. Blinds the target, causing it to wander confused for up to X sec. Any damage dealt to the target will cancel the effect. Blind also removes any damage-over-time effects previously placed on the target that may cancel the blind effect. Doesn’t cancel Stealth mode. Cooldown: 2 minutes, skill level 1/5.
