Chapter 18: Home investigation

Raine tried three other icons to figure out their functions.
One is to take pictures. You can take pictures of the scene you see before you and save it, and it comes with a photo library, but it's all empty for the time being. Another one should be a translation dictionary. Rehn is not sure, because there is no change after opening it, maybe the application method is wrong.
The last one is more interesting, it is actually a music player!
Renn originally liked music better. When he was a child, he was asked by his mother to learn how to play the piano. Although he didn't play very well, he still knew a little about music. He usually played with friends and colleagues. He would also sing a few songs in KTV to win a piece. applause.
He opened the music player and found that there were nearly a thousand songs in it, all of which he had downloaded on his phone before.
This is a big surprise for Rennes.
He was expecting a song on demand, and a familiar melody sounded in his mind. He was fascinated by listening, and suddenly missed everything on the earth, quite sad.
After listening to a few songs, Rennes sighed slightly and turned off the player.
The sky will light up soon.
Rehn didn't sleep all night, but he was so energetic, he went out after having breakfast in the hotel lobby.
Asperger and Ramsey are dead, he can go back to the apartment openly, but considering that the bag of money, sword, and shotgun he got last night is not convenient to carry, so he didn’t check out immediately. Hide in the room and wait for it to be processed later.
He is going back to the apartment now and show up in front of the landlord, otherwise the landlord may report to the city hall and cause trouble to himself.
got on the bus and returned to the apartment in the Los Angeles area, Ren knocked on the door of the landlord’s house on the first floor.
A fat middle-aged man in pajamas opened the door with a newspaper under his arm. He looked a little impatient when he saw Renne, and asked, "Ryan, what's the matter with you? Is the water pipe broken again?"
Renn had called him twice before because of a leak in the apartment’s water pipe. This was an old problem of the apartment building.
This building has been built for decades, and the water pipes are seriously aging and have long been unusable. If all the new water pipes would cost a lot of money, this stingy guy couldn't bear to pay.
   "Mr. Lenny, good morning."
Rehn showed a smile on his face and said, "The day after tomorrow is the time for me to pay the rent, but I am busy these days and may not be in the apartment, so I will give you the rent in advance."
While talking, he handed over the prepared 120 copper liso bill.
When Lenney heard that it was not the plumbing problem, his expression eased, and he took the money happily and nodded, "Actually, it doesn’t matter if you pay the rent a few days later, but it’s better to pay early. I’m having breakfast, Rennes, you want to be together ?"
"Thank you Mr. Lenny, I have already eaten it." Renn simply refused, and then politely left.
This landlord’s stinginess is famous all over the street, but he always likes to pretend to be generous. If he really agreed to the invitation to eat breakfast, he would definitely try to deduct the money for this breakfast later.
Back to the apartment on the third floor, there was no one for half a month, and a thin layer of dust fell.
"If you want to live in the future, you still have to do some sanitation."
Rain cleaned the whole room in half an hour, then washed himself and put on clean clothes.
He was about to go out and was about to find an alchemy shop for a soul test, but he heard a conversation between the two on the street.
"115 Corsham Street, Captain, here we are."
This is a beautiful female voice. Judging from the voice alone, she should be no more than thirty years old. There is a sense of confidence in her voice. When she walked, there was the sound of metal armor clashing. She was obviously wearing armor and her footsteps were very heavy. The sound she made was different from that of others, and it was very easy to recognize.
The one who responded to her was a virtuous man: "It's this apartment building. Let's go up, Room 308 on the third floor."
The man's steps are extremely light and dexterous, like a cat walking.
Ren was shocked when he heard that, his apartment number was Room 308!
Are these two people coming to me?
He immediately locked the source of the sound. Two footsteps, one light and one heavy, came from the lobby on the first floor. They had entered the apartment and quickly stepped up the stairs.
It can be judged from the sound of footsteps that these two people are very likely to be transcendents, and it is impossible to escape.
And this is the third floor. Even if the physical fitness is far superior to ordinary people now, you will get injured if you jump from the third floor, and you can't run far.
"You must not escape, otherwise you will not confess yourself."
Various thoughts flashed through Ren's mind, guessing that the two men should have been sent by officials. They found out that the owner of the manor outside the city was Asperger last night.
The reason why I came to look for myself is probably because I have been to the swordsmanship hall and knew that I was once Asperger's assistant, so I came to investigate and inquire.
"They moved so fast. They tracked down to me in a few hours. They probably found the altar of the evil god, so they paid so much attention."
Raine secretly rejoiced that he didn't bring the money and shotgun back to the apartment, otherwise it would be troublesome.
  After thinking, his mind settled.
Soon, there was a knock on the door.
Ren calmly opened the door and saw a man and a woman standing outside.
A man in his thirties, wearing a black leather jacket and trousers, with a gun pouch hanging around his waist, and a broad-brimmed felt hat similar to a cowboy hat. He looks ordinary, with a slightly hooked nose and forehead. There are a few shallow wrinkles and a pair of dark and deep eyes under the rough eyebrows.
Behind him, is a fully armed female swordsman.
She is very tall, beautiful, with long golden hair tied behind her head, she wears a fine silver armor, a two-handed sword on her back, and a golden scale engraved on her breastplate. This is the holy emblem of the God of Justice.
"A fourth-level ranger using a soul gun, but disguised as a gunman, and a third-level female holy swordsman!"
Renn had already opened the eyes of the soul, seeing the extraordinary professions of these two people, but his face was astonished, and asked: "Two adults, you..."
The man headed by took out a card from the pocket of his leather jacket and said, "I'm Pollock from the Security Bureau's Demon Slayer. She is my teammate Freda. This is my ID."
Pollock didn't mean to hand over the card to Renne for checking, only showed it in front of Renne for a second or two and then took it back.
For ordinary people, they can't read the content on the card at all, but ordinary people don't dare to ask if they hear the identity of the person coming.
Long Shande’s public security bureau is similar to the public security bureau in his previous life. The law enforcement officers people usually see are called sheriffs. There is one of the most special departments in the Public Security Bureau, the Demon Slayer, which is responsible for cases related to demons or cults.
The members of the slayer team are all extraordinary. The number of players is between five and ten. With various occupations, they are all collective actions when they go out.
The scene where Pollock showed his identity card made Renne inexplicably familiar.
Isn’t this a scene often seen in movies before?
If Pollock suddenly shouted the FBI now, he would not be surprised...
He spit in his heart, but on the surface he pretended to be a little apprehensive. He quickly opened the door and said, "My lord, please come in. I wonder what's the matter?"
Pollock walked into the room, but the holy swordsman Freda stayed outside. She took a deep look at Ren, and then looked away.
Pollock looked around in the room. The layout of the room was very simple. He couldn't see anything at a glance, so he asked, "Do you know Asperger Fern?"
"Yes." Ren said truthfully: "I used to be his assistant, but I only did it for half a month."
"Why do it for half a month?" Pollock asked in a deep voice.
"Uh..." Ren said the alarm bell in his heart, this was the only place he might be exposed. Because he didn't know how Asperger confessed to the sword hall after killing himself.
Although the biggest possibility is that Asperger said nothing, pretending not to know where he was going. But there is also another possibility. Asperger reported to the Fencing Hall that he thought he was not suitable for the job of an assistant and had already fired.
Pollock frowned when he saw Renn's hesitation, and said majesticly: "This matter is very important. You'd better tell the truth, otherwise you can only be taken back for interrogation."
"No, no, no..." Renn waved his hand quickly and said scaredly, "My lord, I said."
"On the night of half a month ago, Master Asperger and Ramsey approached me and asked me to bring weapons and go with them to do a major event, the kind that can make money, but might kill people. I was scared at the time. They ran away without paying attention, and hid in the country for a long time, and didn't dare to come back until this morning."
Reyn answered half-truth and half-false, avoiding the previous question, so as not to be incompatible with what the swordsmanship said.
Pollock heard it but didn't respond. He stared at Renn. UU reading www.uukanshu.com scared Renn and lowered his head. His body trembled slightly, and then he asked: "You can run away, so you can be considered alert. But why don't you report it?"
Ryan cowered and replied: "I dare not, and there is no evidence."
He raised his head, "My lord, is Asperger caught?"
"He is dead." Pollock replied blankly: "And your classmate Ramsey, who is also dead. They are all followers of the cult. If you are lucky, you are not involved."
"Ah..." Rehn was shocked, then quietly relieved.
Pollock saw him like this, he was not interested in further questioning, turned around and left the room, waved to the female holy swordsman: "Let's go."
Rehn watched the two leave, and then closed the door when their figure disappeared at the top of the stairs.
He wiped his forehead and found that his palms were wet. He couldn't help but admire his acting skills. He shook his head and secretly said: For the sake of his life, this is all forced out!
Downstairs, Pollock and Frida had already walked out of the apartment, and the two began to talk.
"Frida, have you found anything?" Pollock asked in a low voice.
"No, Captain. My mind detects everything is normal. He is just an ordinary person and has nothing to do with Cthulhu." Frida replied.
   "Then leave him alone."
Pollock snorted and continued: "This kid didn't tell the truth. He is not a transcendent, but he escaped from the second-level shadow warrior. There must be some concealment in it. But since he has nothing to do with the evil god, then forget it, and follow up. It doesn't make much sense to go down, so as not to frighten the young people."
The sound of their footsteps gradually faded away until they disappeared completely.
Reyn had a complex expression, and he was also afraid for a while, and he secretly remembered the names of these two extraordinary people.
