At that moment, Shao Xuan moved to the side to avoid the attack, then jumped off the tree, directly into the open.
If he wanted to deal with this opponent, it was not suitable to fight in close range. If he was too close, Shao Xuan would only suffer as the other side was quick and has longer reach, so it naturally had the advantage.
It was a strange animal that looked like a larger brown monkey, but in fact, it was not. Its limbs were long and flexible, as well as its feet and toes, but its sharp, sickle-shaped claws could be contracted between its toes like a cat. When it was waving its arms like a whip, the claws were out, but when it was just moving, it would put its claws away.
As it waved its claws towards Shao Xuan, it showed its sharp teeth and glared at him. With its fierce attacks and bared teeth, it was obvious that the ferocious animal was feeling a deep resentment. It was not as if it was catching its prey, but more like fighting an enemy.
This made Shao Xuan puzzled.
The animal was very clever. It was not just one of the big, stupid ones, but a real beast. Even if Shao Xuan wanted to ignore it, the emotions in its eyes were too strong that he could not. It was the first came he came to this place, so he was curious how he had actually offended it.
After coming down from the tree, the space behind him was tight.
In the midst of the murderous killing, the cold light of the beast’s claws was like a raging stalker, waving its sickle of death, eager to harvest all life.
The claws in front of him were too fast that Shao Xuan couldn’t find a good opportunity to counterattack.
As his feet jumped off the ground, Shao Xuan had moved away from his original position, leaving a sinkhole on the ground. Then, the soft rot and leaves in that area burst up as the approaching claw in front turned it into shreds.
Shao Xuan quickly ran by the dense forest, while the pursuer behind him still let out a strong killing intent. It was like it was wishing it could fly over immediately.
Shao Xuan’s speed was already fast, but the other side didn’t have to hide this was, was also catching up. Unexpectedly, Shao Xuan did not get too far!
He tried to dodge but the attack was fast. Each hit of the long and sharp claws was with strong emotion. It was also smart enough that it was no stranger to humans. What would be the best way to deal with such a fierce beast?
There seemed to be a tense atmosphere in the dense forest as a result of this chase. The other beasts had no intention to meddle, nor could they keep up with the speed of both.
The sound a trunk breaking sounded again. It was the work of the fierce beast as he sped up with the help of the trunk. The louder the cut sounded, the greater the force used by the other party, the more it continued to accelerate. It had probably gotten tired of being ignored by Shao Xuan, so it couldn’t wait to finish this.
He considered the way the beast used the trunks. If only the trunks were thinner, it would have broken easily.
Should he cut the trunk before the beast used it?
Shao Xuan slowed down his speed a little, then took a sharp turn. The totem power in his body instantly increased, the flame-like totem pattern almost covering his whole body. The totem power in his body flowed and flooded to his legs, and his leg muscles swelled.
After a sharp turn, Shao Xuan pivoted around and pointed his leg at a tree. He lifted his legs up and kicked!
Ka!
The thick trunk the size of three men was kicked off directly.
The broken trunk crashed straight into the path the brown beast was running at.
With the fierce pursuit of the beast, it did not expect that Shao Xuan would come up with this, after seeing him slow down his speed. It had almost caught up, its claws were already itching, but the next moment it was about to taste blood, it was given such a violent blow.
Peng!
The brown figure was hit by the broken trunk, smashing on the trunk of another tree, which made it give a sharp cry.
However, one shouldn’t underestimate this fierce beast. After all, it is a ferocious beast and its physique is strong. It was hurt when it was smashed like this, but it’s not fatal. Just one step short of a serious injury.
Shao Xuan wanted to strike again afterwards, but the beast reacted quickly. When the trunk fell, it used its forelegs like a whip to wrap around the trunk and circled to avoid a frontal collision with Shao Xuan.
The beast, which had fallen several steps back on the ground, landed on its limbs. Crouching down, it trained its dark eyes at Shao Xuan, as if thinking of something or measuring the situation at that moment.
When Shao Xuan thought that it would attack again, he saw the beast turn away and gave up fighting against him. This was the decision it made after measuring the pros and cons, and found that Shao Xuan may not be an easy person to deal with.
However, even if it wanted to leave this time, it was already too late. Shao Xuan would not let go of a beast who had dared to attack him.
This time, the roles of the chase has turned upside down. The side originally in pursuit was now eager to avoid the fight, while the party that was hunted down became a hunter.
Peng!
Peng!
Peng!
In the woods, the sounds of the trunk being kicked off came from time to time. Some of the birds resting in the trees were startled and flew. The original quiet of this mountain forest became restless. The fierce beasts, who were walking around, twitched their ears, then went on their way and left. They did not want to meddle in such a savage and violent fight. Anyway, it was not them that were unlucky now, so they’re not going to mix in.
The trunks were constantly kicked off. Although not every time it could directly hit the target, but even if it would not hit, it could still bring a certain amount of obstruction to the brown beast.
At this time, the fierce beast was regretting that he had provoked this person. Originally, it just wanted to vent its anger on this person, but never wanted to kill him. It has always been afraid to start a fight with the human race, but it thought this one was easy to deal with, especially since the human was still young and alone. However, after experiencing that human using such a direct use of a trunk as a weapon, even if its claws were sharp, it would not be able to find a way out between such thick trunks, so it would certainly be smashed.
When one’s mood was messed up, one couldn’t make the most correct response in the first place. The messier it was, the more it would turn more messier.
In the woods, Shao Xuan did not know how long he had managed to catch up with the beast.
Ka!
Another trunk was kicked off, and the timing was so well pinched that it hit the beast directly from the side.
The stout mossy trunk was bounced back by the force, then drove straight down.
The beast was hit once again and let out a cry of pain, as it was smashed to the ground.
After a back-to-back hit by the trunk, the smashed fierce beast did not get up immediately, since it was hit a little hard.
But seeing that the other party still wanted to escape, Shao Xuan picked up the fallen trunk next to him, then dragged it over like a stick.
Peng!
The fierce beast, which had just gotten up, was once again hit.
The fallen beast screamed again, and its cry was no longer the fierce hiss of the previous ones but a series of brief shouts. In conjunction with the pitiful emotions that appeared in its eyes, as if it was begging for mercy, it put its claws away, then curled up with its head in his arms, bowing to Shao Xuan.
When he saw this, Shao Xuan threw out the stout trunk in the open. From a tree, he pulled down a long vine, then turned it into a rope to tie the beast up without waiting for this fierce beast to react. Its whip-like limbs were tied, that even if its claws came out, it could not immediately cut all the vines.
After tying it up, Shao Xuan grabbed it by the neck and raised it to his level.
Feeling the fingers tightening in its throat a little, the beast found it more and more difficult to breath. It was injured and its neck was being choked, so it has a slight sense of powerlessness. It knew that struggling to swing its trapped limbs was also useless.
As he lifted the beast, Shao Xuan wanted to figure out why the beast was so strongly hostile to himself, but suddenly, his ears twitched. He heard a few fast footsteps approaching. It was probably the movement they made that drew these people over just now. People from a nearby tribe? Or something else?
Those people came quickly, and everyone looked burly and eager.
Apparently, they did not expect to see other tribesmen here. The five people who came over then stopped as they saw the fierce beast in Shao Xuan’s hand. One of them wanted to say something but was stopped by his companions. Shao Xuan had his back to them, therefore, the five people could not see his appearance. Shao Xuan was also wearing more clothes in order to prevent getting poisoned in the woods. He had also added a few animal skins over him, and although his clothes and animal skins had broken a bit, it still blocked the totem patterns in his arms and legs, so the five people could not see them.
The five looked at each other, then one of the most calm walked forward. He was ready to say his piece, but Shao Xuan has finally turned around.
After looking at Shao Xuan’s face where the totem patterns has not yet dispersed, the person who wanted to talk got his words stuck. The corners of his eyes twitched, while the others were also the same, staring their eyes out, their hearts roaring.
What is this?! Why is there someone from the Flaming Horns tribe here?!
Hello again!
So, since my chapters were now linked in Novelupdates, current translator skipped those and continued from my latest post last week. I saw some readers were complaining about that, since mine was not even the direct translation. What do I do then? Let him continue it and stop mine? That would be great for me since I could read the MTLs faster without editing. ᕕ( ՞ ᗜ ՞ )ᕗ
I understand that my site has raised problems for the current translator since it would be somewhat pointless for him to continue from where he left off if some readers have already read mine. But I’m not sorry for editing the MTLs and posting it here since I started this (way before he picked up CoPW) because I’m not satisfied with the translator at that time, and I decided not to stop when new translator came in because I’m already ahead with several chapters which might disappoint the few readers I have if I stopped. Once current translator caught up to mine, I was thinking of stopping this. And I want to point out that I never planned to submit and never submitted this to Novelupdates since I know mine is not a direct translation. I guess some fan, maybe, decided to submit it. (ノ_-;)…
I might still edit as I read since I can understand the story more if I do that, but I might stop posting it here if current translator has higher release rate than mine.
