Chapter 1502: Clean-Sweeping Hurricane
General, there are beings from the Sword Emanations Race just two hundred and fifty kilometers ahead of us. It is unclear exactly how many of them there are!
Jiang Yi and company had been flying for more than two hours when Qi Fei suddenly came flying back towards them. A mocking look appeared on the Poison Spirit’s face. Jiang Yi was speechless as well. This scout’s standard was too low. She only noticed the Sword Emanations Race when they were two hundred and fifty kilometers away. What’s more, she did not even manage to count how many of them there were.
Heaven-Revolving Formation, be ready to fight!
Qi Qingchen shouted in a cool tone. There was no way they could detour around the Sword Emanations Race if they were only two hundred and fifty kilometers away. Since it was unclear how many of them there were, it meant there were at least thousands of them. Instead of detouring, it was much better to take them head-on. What’s more, many soldiers had never come into contact with beings from the Sword Emanations Race before. They had to try and fight them sooner or later, in order to gain a better understanding of the Sword Emanations Race.
More than a hundred people got into a circular formation as Jiang Yi, Di Ling’er, the Poison Spirit, Qi Fei, Qi Xia, and Qi Qingchen remained in the center. The remaining people formed two more circles and stood, waiting for the formation to take shape.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Soon, red beams of light appeared in the sky in the distance. It looked like there was a giant, red cloud in the sky; like there was a dense group of locusts up there. The red cloud was still five kilometers away when a distinct killing intent engulfed them. What looked like thousands of swords flew towards them, causing their hair to fly and get cut off.
These are the Sword Emanations Race?
Jiang Yi looked for a couple of seconds and became shocked. Many people who had never seen the Sword Emanations Race before also felt like they were watching a fantasy unfold before their eyes. The Sword Emanations Race looked too strange. They looked like they were made out of red swords.
The Sword Emanations Race looked like humans on the outside and stood at about three meters tall. Once they soared in the air—however, they looked blood-red; and their bodies resembled swords. There were even little thorns on their backs, which themselves resembled little blades. Their heads were sharp. If they did not have eyes, noses, and mouths; people would probably mistake them for a type of puppet.
They don’t have any life aura? Why do such strange things exist on earth?
Jiang Yi could not figure it out. These things had no sign of life; this meant that they were dead things. Dead things could not move. Yet, these beings of the Sword Emanations Race could move on their own to chase after Qi Fei and company. They even emanated such intense killing aura. The most important thing was that they could fly and in formation as well. If they were not puppets, then they were really the strangest existence on earth.
Everyone, be careful. The Sword Emanations Race attack using their swords. Their swords emanate terrifying auras, which cause those who get hit to have their souls affected. What’s more, these blades are extremely sharp; comparable to medial-grade divine artifacts.
Qi Qingchen probably had met the Sword Emanations Race before. In a cool tone, she warned everyone around her.
Don’t attack their bodies later on. Go straight for their heads. As soon as their heads explode, they will not be able to move.
Er… Qi Yue, are you sure they’re not puppets?
Jiang Yi was even more shocked now. He sent a voice transmission to Qi Yue and asked,
Could there be formidable martial artists hidden in this mystic realm? They might be puppets that they have taken control of.
Not sure!
Qi Yue glanced at Jiang Yi and sent a confused voice transmission back:
Actually, ever since the Sword Emanations Race appeared in this mystic realm ten thousand years ago, many formidable martial artists have suspected that they are just puppets. A couple of King-Ranked martial artists came here to investigate the matter before, but they did not find anything suspicious.
The Sword Emanations Race seemed to appear out of thin air. They reproduce just by regenerating from other beings of the Sword Emanations Race. Many formidable martial artists have taken a few back for further investigation. The problem is… there are no restrictions or formations in them. Nobody can understand how this race appeared. They could only say that they were produced naturally by heaven and earth.
No restrictions or formations!
Jiang Yi was confused now. If they were really puppets, there would be a core of control for sure. This meant they must contain restrictions or formations. Since so many formidable martial artists have tried and failed to explain their existence, these things were really inexplicable. They had been surviving for ten thousand years. This was not something that formidable martial artists would have control of. No formidable martial artists have lived in the Higher Domain for ten thousand years; not even King-Ranked martial artists.
From afar, the Sword Emanations Race beings were already beginning to attack them. Jiang Yi had no choice but to cast these questions aside. He scanned the Sword Emanations Race and relaxed. There were only five or six thousand of them this time. With Qi Qingchen around, they would probably get rid of them quickly.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
When the five or six thousand Sword Emanations Race beings got within hundreds of meters of Jiang Yi, their eyes turned red; and all of them bowed down. The thorns on their backs stuck out of their bodies and turned into beams of red light which shot towards him.
Each of the Sword Emanations Race being’s back had ten thorns. All of them flew out of their bodies, causing fifty or sixty thousand little, red blades to fill the sky. These little blades were traveling at top speed. Jiang Yi guessed that they were comparable to the speed of Demon-Killing Battle Gods’ attacks.
Buzz!
Jiang Yi’s silver battle armor disappeared, and black battle armor took its place. This was his reward for obtaining first place in the Wen Fight: supreme-grade battle armor. At the very least, those little blades would not pierce through this armor. He would only get injured at most. He had refined this battle armor earlier and was only keeping it hidden. Now, however, the situation was too dangerous. He could not hide his true skills any longer.
Buzz!
Emerald-green battle armor appeared around Di Ling’er’s body. Without a doubt, this was a supreme-grade divine artifact as well. The Poison Spirit did not have battle armor, but he had never worn one before. This was how confident the Phantom Race was.
Clean-Sweeping Hurricane!
Qi Qingchen shouted out in a high-pitched voice. She did not retreat a single step. Instead, she waved her soft sword around in the air and then threw it forward. Seeing her sword dance around in the air was a joy. It looked almost as if she herself was dancing gracefully in midair. Along with her dance moves came raging winds from all directions. The winds gathered and congealed into several wind dragons. Without a sound, they charged towards the rain of blades.
Bang, bang, bang!
The blades, which were falling densely like rain, crashed into the dragons. The dragons threw them off in all directions, breaking their paths and scattering them throughout the sky. Just one move from Qi Qingchen destroyed the rain of blades from the Sword Emanations Race. Her attack was unbelievably ferocious.
Defend yourselves. Qi Hai, six of you, follow me out to fight!
Qi Qingchen shouted once again, her body speeding forward like a crazy dragon, towards the thousands of Sword Emanations Race beings. Six Titled Battle Gods responded to her commands immediately and followed her. Like seven sharp swords, they charged towards the army of Sword Emanations Race beings without any fear.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The little blades which had been swept away in all directions by Qi Qingchen turned around and came charging towards them again. A portion of them traveled towards Qi Qingchen and her six companions, and another portion of them traveled towards Jiang Yi and company. A hundred or so people where Jiang Yi stood retrieved their weapons and prepared to defend themselves.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The little blades were flying in all directions. At any moment, it seemed like more blades were flying towards them. The sight was one to behold, and it would keep any observer on the edge of their seats. Jiang Yi and Di Ling’er both retrieved their own weapons to fend off the attacks. Even the Poison Spirit did not bother to take care of them any longer. After all, they were wearing supreme-grade divine artifacts which could not be pierced through that easily.
Di Ling’er’s battle skills were extremely weak. In just a couple of minutes, she had already endured ten attacks by the blades. Jiang Yi intended for the Poison Spirit to help defend her, but Di Ling’er said through gritted teeth,
Jiang Yi, don’t bother about me. Let me train.
Alright then!
The little blades were flying at top speed, but to Jiang Yi, they were easy to handle. He had smelt death too many times, and he had fought for his life countless times before. His reaction in the face of danger was extremely quick as well. Each time the little blades flew towards him, he would use his Fire Dragon Sword to knock them out of the way easily.
No wonder this place is so dangerous and is named the top ten scariest mystic realms.
Jiang Yi felt shocked in his heart. If they did not get rid of the Sword Emanations Race beings, these little blades will just keep attacking them non-stop. From the looks of the situation, everybody could still hold the blades off. However, what would happen as time passes?
There was a limit to human power. As man’s physical and mental energies were consumed, they would become more and more exhausted’ and their reaction time would take longer and longer. At last, they would be killed. Now, there were only five or six thousand Sword Emanations Race beings. What if they met fifty to sixty thousand, or five hundred to six hundred thousand of them? How long would they be able to hang on?
