Rowling announced the background story of the American magic school Ifamoni, the second in the series "History of Magic in North America". It will provide background information for the "Where are Fantastic Beasts" series of films adapted from Harry Potter derivative novels.
This famous magic school in North America was founded in the 17th century on the top of Graylock Mountain. The school is given a variety of powerful magic, so that people who can't see it can't see its existence, and sometimes it only appears in the surrounding of clouds.
The origin of Ireland
Isolt Sayre was born about 1603. She spent her early childhood in the Comkali Valley in County Kerry, Ireland. This girl is the offspring of two pure blood wizards. Her father, William Sayre, is a direct descendant of the famous Irish witch Morrigan. Morrigan is a beastmaster who can transform into a crow. William gave his daughter a nickname called "Morrigan" because she has been very close to everything in nature since she was a child. Aesop’s early childhood was very peaceful and beautiful, loved by his parents, and his family often silently helped Muggle neighbors, using magic to treat humans and livestock.
However, when Aesop was five years old, their family was attacked and her parents died in that disaster. An older sister, Gaunt, who had been alienated from her mother for a long time, rescued Aesop from the fire. Gormley took her to "Komgari" in the Promenade Valley, known as "Witch Canyon", and raised her there. As Aesop grew older, she began to understand one thing: the person who rescued her from the fire was actually the murderer who murdered her parents and kidnapped her. Gormley is a fierce and cruel temperament (just like the rest of the Gunter family), a radical and fanatical pure-blood wizard, she is convinced that her sister's assistance to Muggle neighbors may cause Aesop and Muggle to marry. Gormley also believes that only by taking their daughter away can this child "return to the right way": she wants to educate this child, Morrigan and Salazar Slytherin’s direct descendants, can only be with pure People of this bloodline come and go.
Gormley thinks Aesop needs a role model, so she starts with herself. Whenever a Muggle or animal gets too close to the hut where they live, she will spell bad luck for them and force Aesop to watch. Neighboring communities soon learned to stay away from Gormley’s residence. Since then, the villagers who once had friendship with Aesop never interact with her again. The local boys would throw stones at Aesop playing in the garden, which became the only intersection between Aesop and the villagers.
When receiving the admission letter from Hogwarts, Gormley refused to let Aesop go to school because she thought that instead of letting Aesop go to a dangerous place full of Muggle offspring and advocate egalitarianism, it is better to study at home. However, Gormley herself was a student of Hogwarts, and she told Aesop many stories about the school. Basically, everything she said was to discredit Hogwarts and mourn Slytherin's unfulfilled ambition to correct the wizard's pure blood. But for her niece, the words of an almost crazy aunt who isolated her and tormented her in all sorts of ways made Hogwarts seem like a paradise-she spent a lot of time weaving with Huo as a teenager. The dream about Gewarts. For twelve years, Gormley used powerful black magic to force Aesop to submit, cutting her connection with the outside world.
In the end, the girl developed enough ability and courage to steal her aunt's wand (Gormley never let her hold her own wand) and escape. In addition to the magic wand, Aesop also brought a golden brooch, shaped into a Gordian Knot, which once belonged to her mother. In this way, Aesop escaped abroad.
Aesop was afraid of Gormley's amazing tracking magic and sought revenge, so he moved to the UK first, but Gormley quickly followed in her footsteps. In order to completely get rid of her adoptive mother and prevent her from finding herself, Aesop cut off her long hair. She pretended to be a Muggle boy and named Elias Story (EliasStory).
In 1620, she boarded the Mayflower to travel to the American New World. Aesop landed with the first batch of Muggles who first settled in the Americas (in the wizarding world of America, Muggles are called "No-Maj" (no magic). Upon arriving in the Americas, Aesop immediately disappeared into the surrounding mountains, making her shipmates believe that Elias Stoli, like many others, died in the harsh winter. Aesop left the neo-colonial community partly because she was afraid that Gormley would find out her whereabouts, even if she was already on the new continent. Another reason is that she discovered that as a witch during the journey on Mayflower, it is almost impossible to make friends with Puritans.
In a country where the environment is harsh and completely unfamiliar, Aesop is completely alone now. As far as she knows, at least there are no other wizards within a hundred miles. The one-sided education that Gormley gave her did not contain any information related to the Native American wizards. However, after spending a few weeks in the mountains, she met two magical creatures, she hadn't noticed their existence before.
Hidebehind (Hidebehind) is a nocturnal ghost that lives in the forest and lives by preying on humans and humanoids. As the name implies, the invisibility monster can distort its body, hide behind almost any object, and hide itself perfectly when encountering predators or prey. Maji knows the existence of invisible monsters, but they cannot match it. Only witches or wizards have a chance to survive the attack of invisible monsters.
Pukwudgie is also a native species of North America. It is very short, with gray skin and long ears, and is a distant relative to European fairies. Goblins are extremely capable of acting alone, are scheming, possess powerful magic, and do not like humans very much (whether wizards or Muggles). Goblins hunt with deadly poisonous bows and arrows, and love to tease humans.
Once, these two creatures met in the forest-the invisibility monster with exceptionally powerful strength and size successfully captured a young and inexperienced goblin. Aesop ran into them when the invisible monster was about to break the goblins. So, Aesop cast a curse to drive away the invisible monster. She didn't realize that the goblin was also quite dangerous to humans, so she took him back to her humble house and took care of him until he recovered.
The goblin declared his allegiance to Aesop after healed, and said that he would serve her until he had a chance to repay the favor he owed. He thought that owing favors to this young witch was a great humiliation to him, especially the witch was so stupid that he could wander around strange places where goblins or invisible monsters might attack her at any time. From then on, Aesop's life began to be accompanied by a goblin's grievances with him.
Putting aside the goblin's disdain for her, Aesop finds him very funny and even likes his company. Over time, they cultivated friendship, and this kind of friendship is unprecedented between these two races. In order to follow the goblin's taboo, he refused to tell Aesop his real name. Aesop therefore helped him nickname "William" after her father's name.
long-horned water snake
William introduces Aesop to the magical creatures he is familiar with. They wandered around together, watching the Frog-headed Hodags hunting, fighting against the Snallygaster, and watching the newborn kittens and leopards (Wampus) playing in the dawn sun.
For Aesop, the creature that attracted her the most was the huge Horned Serpent. This aquatic creature was inlaid with a gem on its forehead and lived in a nearby stream. Although her goblin guide was very afraid of this beast, the goblin was also surprised to find that the long-horned water snake seemed to like Aesop very much. What frightened William even more was Aesop's claim that he understood what the longhorn snake was saying to her.
Aesop later learned not to mention to William the strange intimacy between her and the snake, nor to tell William that he thought the snake seemed to want to tell her something. She went to the stream alone, and never told the goblin where she went. The message of the water snake is always the same: "Your family is in disaster. Only by making me a part of your family will it turn for the better."
Aesop has no family, unless Aunt Gormley from Ireland is included. She could not understand the mysterious words conveyed by the long-horned water snake, and later even believed that the voice was purely imaginary, and that everything was fabricated in her mind.
(Attention everyone~ Aunt Luo laid the groundwork for the plot to follow!)
WebsterBoot (WebsterBoot) and ChadwickBoot (ChadwickBoot)
Because of some tragedies, Aesop finally reunited with the magical kind. One day, when she and William were foraging in the forest together, a screaming scream suddenly came out nearby. William yelled to Aesop to stay where she was, while he shuttled through the trees and wound the poisonous arrow.
Of course, Aesop didn't follow his instructions. She soon reached a small clearing in the forest and witnessed a terrifying sight. The invisible monster who had previously attempted to kill William succeeded in killing two innocent humans, and the victim was left dead in the open space. Even more frightening is that two seriously injured young boys lie aside, watching the invisible monster prepare to mutilate their parents, while waiting in fear for death.
Goblin and Aesop quickly solved the invisible monster, this time completely wiped out him. The goblins were quite satisfied with their results, and happily continued to gather blackberries, ignoring the weak and moaning children on the ground. An angry Aesop asked him to help her carry the two little boys home, but William lost his temper. He said that the two boys were no different from dead (William’s original words were asgoodasdead, puff), and that helping humans would violate the goblin’s creed. Aesop was just an unfortunate exception, because she had saved his life.
Aesop was quite angry at the goblin's coldness and lack of emotion. She told him that if he helped her save any of the little boys, she was willing to take his assistance as a reward. Because they were so badly hurt, Aesop didn't dare to take the boy to apparate, but she still insisted on taking them home. Although reluctant, the goblin agreed to bring back the older brother, whose name was Chawick; while Aesop took the younger Webber back to his residence. As soon as he got home, an angry Aesop told William that she never needed him again. The goblin looked at her angrily, then disappeared without a trace.
Bout Boy and James Stewart
In this way, Aesop sacrificed his only friend for these two young boys who might not survive. Fortunately, they survived. Soon Aesop was surprised and delighted to discover that they had magical abilities.
The wizard parents of Chawick and Webber brought their son to America in pursuit of exciting adventures. The family wandered into the forest and encountered an invisible monster, which ended the journey with tragedy. They were not familiar with this kind of creatures from abroad, and mistakenly thought it was a common phantom beast common in gardens. Mr. Bout wanted to tease him, and the incident turned into a tragedy witnessed by Aesop and William.
In the first two weeks after returning home, the two boys were so seriously injured that Aesop did not dare to leave them. Because she was eager to save the children, she couldn't bury their parents in a decent way. It was not until Chawick and Webber recovered to a certain degree that they could stay at home alone for at least a few hours before she returned to the forest and wanted to build a grave for the boy's parents, because the boy might return there one day.
Aesop was surprised that when she arrived in the clearing, she found a young man named James Steward, who also came from the Plymouth colony. He and the Bout family became friends on their journey to America. They went into the forest to look for them because they missed each other for a long time.
Under Aesop's gaze, James marked the deceased's name from the grave he dug up with his bare hands, and picked up the broken wand left by the Butt couple. He furrowed his brows to examine Mr. Butt's wand, the dragon heartstring at the core of the wand was exposed, constantly emitting sparks. He waved his wand casually. Just like any Moji would encounter when using a magic wand, this magic wand inevitably launched a resistance. James was bounced off, flew over the clearing, hit the tree trunk, and passed out.
James woke up in a hut made of tree branches and animal furs and found that Aesop was beside him taking care of him. Because of the limited space, Aesop could not hide her magical abilities in front of him, especially since she still needed to make potions to heal the Bout brothers and hunt with a magic wand. Aesop intends to wait for his concussion to recover, and then "forget everything" on him and send him back to the Plymouth colony.
However, Aesop was also happy at the same time that he was able to chat with another person of the same age who had previously established relationships with two bout boys. When the boys receive magic therapy, James will play with them. He even assisted Aesop by building a building of stone on top of Graylock Mountain. He was a stonemason when he was in England, and after he drew a design that seemed quite feasible, Aesop took the design into reality in just one afternoon. She named her new home "ilvermorny" after her birthplace and the place where Gormley was destroyed.
Every day, Aesop vowed to perform "forget everything" on James to make him forget everything, but his fear of magic faded day by day. In the end, she had to admit that they had fallen in love and got married.
four colleges
Aesop and James took the Bout brothers as their adopted son. Aesop would tell them many Hogwarts stories he heard from Gormley. The children were full of longing for the school just like when she was a child, and often asked Aesop why he didn't take them back to Ireland so that they could also receive their admission letter. Aesop didn’t want them to be worried about Gormley’s affairs, so she promised the boys that they would help them get their wands when they turned 11 (the wands of the Bouts had been damaged too much and could not be repaired), and Open a magic school directly in his house.
Such a proposal made the imaginations of Chawick and Webber start to fly. The brothers’ ideas about the magic school came almost entirely from Hogwarts, so they insisted that the school should have four colleges. However, the idea of naming the four academies after the four of them was quickly rejected, because Weber believed that an academy named "Weber Butt" did not sound like a winner. They each chose their favorite magic creature. The talented but moody Chawick chose the "Thunderbird", a bird that summons thunder and lightning while flying. The arguable but extremely loyal Weber chose "Wampus", a magical animal that looks like a jaguar, agile, strong and difficult to kill. And of course Aesop chose the long-horned water snake, she still maintains the habit of visiting the water snake, and she has a strange intimacy towards this creature.
When everyone asked what kind of creature James likes, he suddenly felt hesitated. As the only hemp chicken in the family, he has never come into contact with these familiar creatures. In the end, he mentioned the goblin, because his wife told him many stories about the little-fried William, and these stories always made him laugh. (James is really a loving character, hahaha~)
Four academies of Ifamoni were founded. The four elders didn't realize at the time, in fact, each of them had their unique personality revealed in the names so casually named.
dreamland
As Chawick's 11th birthday approached, Aesop began to feel at a loss because she didn't know how to fulfill the promise she had promised Chawick: give him a magic wand. As far as she knew, the wand she stole from Gormley was the only wand in North America at the time. She did not dare to take the risk of dismantling the wand to study the structure inside, and the two wands used by the Bouts in the past only let her know that they contained dragon heartstrings and unicorn hair, and when she discovered the wand, these two wands The material has dried up and died.
On the eve of Chawick’s birthday, she had a dream. She dreamed of walking along a stream and meeting a long-horned water snake. The long-horned water snake emerged from the water and lowered her head to Aesop, asking her to cut off part of her head. Aesop woke up and set off, walking in the dark, down the stream.
The long-horned water snake was waiting for her there, and bowed his head for her, just like a dream. She cut off part of the water snake's head and thanked the water snake, and then returned home to wake James to help make the wand. (Thanks to James' stone and wood craftsmanship, the home at this time has become more beautiful and warmer than ever.)
The next day, when Chawick woke up, he saw an exquisitely carved wand made of American gumwood with the horns of a water snake wrapped in it. Aesop and James successfully built a magic wand with extraordinary power.
The establishment of the Ifamoni School
When Webber was 11 years old, the reputation of the magic school founded by this little family in the local area had spread. Two boys from the Wapanon tribe, and a mother from the Narragan tribe with their two daughters, came to Iphamoni one after another, hoping to exchange their magic skills to learn how to make wands. All production processes rely on Aesop's wand and James' handicraft.
A voice from a protective instinct in Aesop’s heart told her to keep the core of the long-horned water snake for her two adopted children (pay attention, foreshadowing is here again!), so she and James began to use various other Rod core, such as cat and leopard hair, mountain tyrannosaurus heartstring, antler rabbit antlers, etc.
In 1634, the development of this small family has far exceeded the imagination of the Aesop family. Over the years, the house gradually expanded, but the rate of expansion was not as fast as the increase in students. Soon, the number of children was enough for Weber to hold an intramural competition. However, the school’s reputation had not been widely spread between the Native American tribes and British colonists at that time, so there were no students living in the Ifamoni School. Only Aesop, James, Chawick, Webber, and the twin daughters born to Aesop and James: Martha (named after James’s deceased mother), Leona () Named after Suo’s mother).
Gormley's Revenge
This happy and busy family does not know that the crisis is approaching them. The news of the creation of a new magic school in Massachusetts returned to England. Rumors say that people named the headmistress "Morrigan" after the famous Irish witch. However, the school name "Ephamoni" alone was enough to convince Gormley that Aesop was unconsciously Successfully arrived in North America, married pure Muggle offspring, established a school, and even accepted anyone with magic, regardless of pure blood or not.
After Aesop stole the precious wand passed down for many generations, Gormley went to the Ollivander wand store she despised to buy a new wand. In order to ensure that her niece could not see her arrival in advance, she imitated Aesop's method at the time, secretly disguised as a man, and took the Bonaventure across the sea to America. Too much, she falsely used the name of Aesop's murdered father and called herself William Thrall. After arriving in Virginia, Gormley continued quietly to Massachusetts and Graylock Mountain. She arrived at the top of the mountain on a cold winter night, and planned to repeat the old tricks of the second Ifamoni, kill the couple that ruined her dream of establishing a pure-blood family, and steal the nieces (they are family The last bloodline), and then take the child back to Witch Valley.
In the dark, the huge granite building on top of Graylock Mountain came into view. Gormley cast a powerful curse on Aesop and James towards the castle, forcing them to sleep in the curse.
Then, she sizzled in the language of snake lao, snake language. The wand at the bedside that had served Aesop heartily for many years quivered slightly when she was asleep, and then lost its function. Having lived with this wand for so many years, Aesop never knew that the wand in his hand once belonged to Salazar Slytherin, one of the founders of Hogwarts, nor did he know that the core material used in the wand was actually a snake monster. Horn-and it's the basilisk, the king of snakes. At that time, the wand maker gave instructions to the wand to enter a deep sleep state when receiving a specific instruction. This secret has been passed down for centuries among the wand holders of each generation in the Slytherin family.
What Gormley didn't know was that there were still two people in the house who hadn't been cast into sleep by her because she had never heard of the 16-year-old Chawick and the 14-year-old Webber. Another thing she didn't know was that the pair of brothers also used water snake horns in their cores. These two wands were not affected by Gormley's vibe. On the contrary, the magical wand core vibrates with the ancient snake lao cavity. They felt that their owner might be in danger and began to make a low sound, which sounded exactly the same as the warning sound made by a long-horned water snake.
The Butt brothers got up and jumped out of the bed after hearing the sound. Chawick subconsciously looked out the window and saw Gormley Gunter approaching the building in the woods.
Chawick is like all children. What they hear and know far exceeds their parents' imagination. The adoptive parents, Aesop and James, may think that they have successfully protected their children from the story of the murderer Gormley, but they are wrong. Chawick was young when he overheard Aesop talking about his reasons for fleeing Ireland. Aesop and James didn't know at all. Since then, Chawick's dreams often saw an old witch walking through the woods and sneaking close to Ivamoni. Now he has witnessed his nightmare come true.
Chawick asked Webber to warn his parents and rushed downstairs to do what he thought was the only reasonable thing at the moment: he ran out of the castle to meet Gormley and prevented her from entering the room where his parents slept.
Gormley did not expect that she would meet a young wizard. At first, she underestimated the young man's abilities. Chawick masterfully blocked her curse, and a duel began. Although Gormley's mana is far greater than Chawick, only a few minutes of duel, Gormley had to admit that this talented boy was taught well. While casting a lot of evil spells on his head to try to subdue him and forcing him to the house, Gormley questioned his family background. She said that she "does not want to kill such a talented pure-blood wizard." .
At the same time, Weber is trying to wake his parents, but Gormley’s spell is too strong, even Gormley’s screams and the sound of the curse hitting the building can’t wake them up. Webber therefore decided to rush downstairs and join the fierce duel outside the house.
The two-to-one duel made Gormley's situation more difficult. In addition, the cores of the Bout brothers use the same material, and when used together to deal with a common enemy, the magic power is multiplied tenfold. Even so, Gormley's dark magic is still enough to rival them. The duel has become raging, and Gormley laughed and told the brothers that if they could prove their pure blood, they would let them live, and Chawick and Webber were determined to prevent her from approaching their family. The walls were broken and the window glass shattered, but Aesop and James were still asleep until the twin daughters sleeping upstairs were awakened and screamed out of fear.
The scream suddenly broke the curse that trapped Aesop and James. The chaos and magic of the duel couldn't awaken them, but the scared screams of the daughters successfully lifted Gormley's curse. The power of love is so powerful that Gormley cannot understand. Aesop yelled at James, asking him to find his daughters, while she rushed to help the adopted children. She held Slytherin's wand tightly in her hand.
It wasn't until Aesop raised her wand to attack the hateful aunt that she realized that although this wand had given her a lot of help, it was no different from the stick picked up on the ground in her hand. Gormley felt complacent, and she forced Aesop, Chawick, and Webber to the stairs. Only then did she hear the cry of her nieces. Gormley finally arrived at the twin girls' bedroom. She blasted the door open and saw James standing in front of the cradle with determination to protect her daughter. The deep sense of despair made Aesop unable to help crying. She had already begun to speak incoherently, and she could only hear the name of Aesop's murdered father in the words.
At this time, a huge crackling sounded, the moonlight in the house was blocked, and the goblin William suddenly appeared on the windowsill. Before Gormley understood the situation, a poisoned arrow passed through her heart. Her harsh screams spread hundreds of miles away. In order for this old witch to become immortal, her blood was filled with black magic, and these curses and goblin venom had a chemical effect. She began to become stiff and brittle, and eventually shattered into gravel all over the floor. Ollivander's wand exploded after falling to the ground. What Gormley Gaunt ultimately possessed was a piece of sand, broken wooden sticks, and charred dragon heartstrings.
William saved the Aesop family. However, in the face of their gratitude, he just cursed Aesop angrily because he found that Aesop had never called his name in the past ten years, and only thought of him when he was in danger of life. The clever Aesop did not tell him that the William she called at the time was actually her father. Being able to meet the well-known goblins, James was so happy that he forgot that the goblins did not favor most humans. He clasped William's hand with a bewildered face and told William how lucky he was that he chose to name one of the academies of Ifamuni after the goblin.
Many people are convinced that it was James' praise and gratitude to him that softened the heart of the goblin William. The next day, William and his goblin family moved into the house, and although they still complained in their own way, they still helped them repair the damage caused by Gormley. Then, William declared that because the wizards were too weak to protect themselves, he decided to sign a protection treaty with them and charge a large sum of money, and began to serve as the school's private security and order defender.
Slytherin's legacy
Since Gormley used Snakeman to give instructions to Slytherin's wand, the wand has remained unusable. Aesop doesn't know how to speak like a snake, but in any case, she doesn't want to touch this magic wand again. This is the last memory of her unhappy childhood. She and James buried the wand under the ground outside the school.
Within a year, some unknown snakewood grew in the place where the wand was buried, and it would not be possible to cut down or destroy it. A few years later, it was discovered that the leaves of this tree had powerful medical effects. This tree supports the fact that everything has its pros and cons, just as Slytherin's offspring are not all bad guys, so does Slytherin's wand, which can do good in addition to bad things. And the best legacy left by Slytherin seems to be here in America.
The growth of the Ifamuni School
The reputation of Ifamoni has grown steadily in the next few years. The granite hut became a castle, and as the number of students increased, more teachers were recruited. Now, witches and wizard children from all over the Americas have been sent to Ivamoni, and Ivamoni is converted to boarding school. In the 19th century, Ifamoni had an international reputation.
For many years, Aesop and James have always served as principals together, and many students have regarded them as writers.
Chawick became famous and became a wandering wizard. He published seven books. "The Magic of Chawick Episode One-Episode Seven" (How is it so like the Harry Potter series?) was adopted by Ifamoni as a textbook . He married a Mexican therapist named Josefina Calderon as his wife. The Calderon-Bout family is still one of the most prestigious wizarding families in North America.
Before the founding of the Magical Congress of the United States (MACUSA, the Magical Congress of the United States of America), the New World lacked the implementation of wizard-related laws. Webb Bout later became an enforcer, the modern Auror. When repatriating an extremely evil black wizard back to London, Weber met a young Scottish witch who worked at the Ministry of Magic and fell in love with her. Part of the Bute family therefore returned to their hometown in London, and Weber's descendants all went to Hogwarts to study.
The eldest daughter of James and Aesop is a dumb gun. Although Martha's parents and brothers still love her deeply, living in Ifamoni is still very painful for her because she cannot perform any magic. In the end, she married the brother of a friend from the Bokomtuk tribe and has since lived as a maji.
The twins’ sister Leona taught Defence Against the Dark Arts at the Ifamuni School for many years. Leona is unmarried for life. There are rumors that, unlike her sister, Leona is born with a snake-like talent, and that she is determined not to marry to prevent the blood of Slytherin from being passed on to the next generation. This rumor has never been confirmed by the Aesop family. (The Aesops in the United States did not know that Gormley was not the last heir of the Gunter family, and there were other blood ties of the same blood in the UK-such as Lao Fu and his elders.)
Aesop and James both lived to be a hundred years old. They witnessed the transformation from a small hut to a granite castle. When they passed away, the school they founded had become famous, and magic families all over North America rushed to send their children to school. They hired many employees, expanded the school building, and used profound magic to protect the school from being seen by Maji. In a nutshell, the little girl who dreamed of entering Hogwarts at the time has now built one in North America.
Today’s Ifamoni
Given that one of the founders is Maji, the public may expect the school to adopt a democratic style. The same is true of the facts. Ifamoni has become recognized as one of the most democratic and most educated great magic schools.
The marble statues of Aesop and James were set up on both sides of the main entrance of Ifamoni Castle. Open the door to see a circular hall with a glass dome above. In the hall on the second floor, there is a wooden terrace surrounding the hall. In addition, there are almost no extras in the hall, only four other wooden carvings representing the four academies: long-horned water snake, cat and leopard, thunderbird, and goblin.
When the freshmen line up into the rotunda, the rest of the teachers and students will watch on the ring-shaped terrace above. The new students stood in a circle against the wall, and were called one by one, standing above the Knot of Goldie carved in the center of the stone floor of the hall. In the silence of all teachers and students, everyone was waiting for the magic statue to react. If the long-horned Water Snake Academy wants to recruit the student, the crystal inlaid on the forehead will shine. Cat and Leopard Academy will roar if they want students, thunderbirds will flap their wings and goblins will raise their bows and arrows.
If there are more than one college statues expressing their willingness to recruit students, then the right to choose falls on the students themselves. This kind of situation is very rare, maybe only once in ten years, and Seraphina Picquery (Seraphina Picquery) encountered it-all four colleges wanted to recruit her. She served as the head of the Magical Congress of America for several years in the 1920s and was the most prestigious witch at the time. And she chose Water Snake Academy.
Some people say that the four academies of Ifamoni are the epitome of wizards or witches: the long-horned water snake represents wisdom, the cat and leopard represent the body, the goblin represents the heart, and the thunderbird represents the soul. It is also said that Water Snake Academy prefers smart readers, Cat and Leopard Academy advocates warriors, Goblin Academy is mostly kind-hearted healers, and Thunderbird Academy is mostly adventurous people.
The obvious difference between Hogwarts and Ifamoni is not only in the classification ceremony, although the two schools of magic have many similarities. After the students are assigned to the colleges, they will be guided to a huge hall where they will choose their wands (or, the wands will choose the owner). Until the abolition of the Rappaport law in 1965, the North American magical community still had very strict regulations on secrecy laws, so all children were not allowed to hold magic wands before going to study in Ifamoni. In addition, magic wands are not allowed out of school during the holidays. Only wizards and witches over the age of seventeen can legally carry wands outside the school.
The robes of the Ifamoni School are blue and berry red. This color scheme is to commemorate Aesop and James. Blue is Aesop's favorite color, and she dreamed of becoming a student at Hogwarts Ravenclaw when she was young; red is from James' favorite cranberry pie. All the students of Ifamoni will fix their school robes with golden Gordy knots to commemorate the brooch that Aesop found in the ruins of the original Ifamoni hut.
To this day, there are still many goblins working in the school, and the complaints remain, because they insist that they do not want to stay there. However, many years later, goblins still haunt the school mysteriously. There is a very old goblin who will react to the name "William". Some people say that he is the goblin who saved Aesop and James back then. He just laughed at this statement and said that if the William was still alive, he would have been more than 300 years old. However, no one can confirm how long the life span of the goblin is. William didn't let anyone wipe the marble statue of Aesop at the entrance of the campus. On Aesop’s death day, he would place a few Mayflowers on Aesop’s grave, and as long as anyone caress about it in front of him, he would lose his temper.
