Although this gathering was meant to scrutinise the skills of the youngsters, Sima You Yue did not go down. No one seemed to oppose that, especially since everyone was well aware of her might.
Sima You Yue sat at the gallery, looking at the young ones fighting with their might, and furrowed her brows. How boring! These kinds of powers would only hinder the growth of the family clan. There has to be at least one or two talented geniuses amongst this group! She thought hard, and came to the conclusion that the solution would be for her to make the Hundred Revolution Pills for them.
It was fortunate that from the beginning she had known the effects of the Golden Snake Fruit, and so all these years she had persisted in using the spirit fluid, alongside Little Spirits ability to accelerate time, she was able to allow the remaining fruits to ripen. Except for the first time when they had used one when they had found Sima Lie, there were two more Golden Snake Fruits that were kept safely in the Spirit Pagoda, with seven more still hanging on their tree, slowly ripening. With her current skills at alchemy, the next time she made the Hundred Revolution Pills, should would make more than just the few that she had made back then.
The gathering carried on for three days. She had originally planned to only catch the first day, but ended up staying for all three days, in order to choose that talented someone from the crowd.
After all, she only had a total of twenty Golden Snake Fruits, she had to leave two remaining at all time for good measure. If each attempt produced ten pills, she would only be able to make about a hundred and eighty pills in total. Including the six that remained from back then, she could only feed about ninety-three people with the pills. So, whoever would get one of the ninety-three pills must be worthy, and must be able to carry the family clan henceforth.
Not long after the three days ended, she went to look for Sima Tai. Ever since the family clan had gotten on the right track, they had been putting in all their efforts into training. Additionally, in order that there may be no rivalries or misunderstandings between the family members, each family head and family elder gathered regularly to discuss any matter at hand, if not to train together. If anyone felt like they were on the brink of reaching the pinnacle, then they could practice alone, so that they would not be distracted.
But after they had heard Sima You Yue’s suggestion, they agreed to do things differently, as they would have more time to train. Fortunately, when she arrived, everyone was also present. As they saw her approaching, everyone retired from their training, and sat at their seats, looking at her.
Is something the matter?
Sima Tai understood her, and knew that she would not come looking for them if she did not have anything important to bring up.
Sima You Yue found a seat to sit in, and replied,
I would like to ask about those whom you have picked out.
Why are you interested in this matter?
Sima Tai was curious. This punk never used to be interested in such things. And, this punk was back in her men’s clothes. Except for that one night when she appeared in her female gear, she returned back to dressing in men’s clothes again.
Sima You Yue ignored his peering gaze, and said,
I think that the skills that were displayed that day were far too weak, and I thought of a way to help them to grow their powers.
What ideas do you have?
Sima Tai’s eyes shone. Although she was not frequently involved in household matters, everytime she had an idea, it was a good one.
Have you heard of the Hundred Revolution Pill?
Sima You Yue asked.
How could anyone not have? Back then the Xuan Yuan Pavilion of the West Moon Kingdom’s Hundred Revolution Pills had gone for sky-high prices, creating a huge buzz in the Yilin Continent!
Elder Li said. At that time, they had sent people to check the situation out, but to no result.
Are you saying that your solution is the find Hundred Revolution Pills?
Family Head Huo asked.
Rumour has it that the Xuan Yuan Pavilion’s people had kept this issue under lock, so even looking for these pills will be no mean feat.
Family Head Sang said.
Only Sima Tai continued to stare at her dead-on, saying excitedly,
That person was you, wasn’t it!
As he said that, the other family heads were flabbergasted.
That’s right.
Sima You Yue nodded in admittance.
The four men were astonished. But then again, they should not be, because this punk had Divinity Pills, the Hundred Revolution Pills should not be considered a curious thing. But how interesting it is, that she would have the Hundred Revolution Pills from when she had left the Dong Chen Kingdom!
You brat, why did you not speak of this earlier?
Sima Tai glared at her, albeit with a glare that was rather non-threatening.
What’s the point of bringing it up at that point in time? I didn’t have the ingredients, it would have been futile to think about.
Sima You Yue glared back.
And now you do?
Sima Tai’s eyes glowed.
Mmhm. I obtained some over the past few years.
Sima You Yue said.
How many can you make?
I made some two days back, and now I have a hundred and eighty-six pills. Two for each person, for ninety-three people.
Sima You Yue said.
You’ve already made them?
The group gasped. With that many pills, they could correct the physical condition of ninety-three people, and develop that group of people! A single genius is enough to change the fate of a family clan, what more ninety-three of such people?
That’s right.
Sima You Yue replied.
I watched that day, there are four or five kids that have rather good talent. Since they’re still young, using the pills on them would create the greatest effect. Maybe they would become something in the future. The other few Spirit Paragons aren’t that old either, so if we use the pills on them, they might be able to achieve the Divine Rank sooner. Adding these up, there are about fifteen people, and the rest will be for the youngsters. So I came to ask if you have identified the few that you would like to nurture?
We’ve chosen them. There are slightly more than a hundred and ten of them.
That’s more than she had in mind…
There are too many of them, I can only give the pills to some seventy people.
Sima You Yue said.
Let’s go with the ranking we had made then.
Elder Huo said.
I agree with that.
Elder Sang and Elder Li agreed.
Since you have a ranking, then there should be no issue.
Sima You Yue took out a bunch of vials and said,
They’re all here. You can handle it from here, the ones whom I’ve identified are…
She listed the names of those she had here eye on, and Sima Tai made note of each one of their names.
The rest of the other three elders were pleased, because Sima You Yue had mentioned some individuals from their families, and did not discriminate outside of her own family group, but chose them purely on their talent.
You Yue, could you give me the recipe for the Hundred Revolution Pills?
Elder Li asked. He had been having these pills on his mind for a long time.
I can tell you, but that would be of no use to you, since you would not have the most important ingredient.
Sima You Yue said. That’s why she had sold the recipe to the Xuan Yuan Pavilion back then, because letting you have the recipe was akin to giving you a piece of scrap paper, if you were without the key ingredient.
That’s better than not having it at all.
Elder Li shrugged.
Fine then, I’ll write it out for you.
Sima You Yue took out a quill and wrote the recipe out for him. As she did so, she was reminded that the Li Family was a family of alchemists, and now that they were part of the Yilin Clan, they would be strongest alchemists amongst them all. If they were trained well, they would do much better in the future. And so she had determined in her heart to reveal all the methods, and teach the alchemists in their family when she had the time to. In the future, there would be a whole group of skilled alchemists who would be able to create high-grade pills! What great developments that would be for their family!
As she thought about this, she smiled happily.
