Chapter 1405: Bucks Town

Joan touched little Lori's hair gratefully and said softly, "It's almost noon, let's go on the road."
Ruby nodded, turned into a blood mosquito, and got into Joan's cape hood.
Joan put away the crystal ball, unfolded the scroll and chanted the mantra, and disappeared into the teleporting brilliance.
After a few seconds, he and Ruby teleported to the town of Bucks, 700 miles away from Midgard City, where he had previously installed the "Remote Sensing" observation point.
Joan volleyed a pair of wide eagle wings, slowly landed in the woods near the town, and returned to human form.
Ruby also got out of Joan's cloak hood and turned into a girl, following Joan to the town.
There is a tavern near Zhenkou, which Joan noticed when he cast a spell.
After thinking a little, he decided to go to the pub to sit around for a while before deciding to go to Martin, to ask the locals about Martin's living conditions during the year he returned home.
It was still early, and the town pub seemed very deserted. There were only a few guests, some were hangovers and some were having lunch.
Joan took Ruby to the pub bar and sat down. He ordered a cup of black tea and ordered Ruby a freshly squeezed apple juice.
The pub owner is a short and middle-aged man. Joan listened to the hotel guest who was sitting next to him calling him "Mr. Fitzgerald", and guessed that this person was probably the father of Charles Fitzgerald. It's also Martin Smith's uncle.
Joan was not good at talking with strangers. While hesitating how to speak, the tavern brought apple juice and hot black tea and greeted him and Ruby with a smile.
"Good morning, are the two outsiders?"
"Good morning, uncle, we did come from afar." Ruby answered politely.
"Looking at your dress is not like a businessman, nor a hunter or an adventurer, it is not convenient to reveal your intentions? Uncle, I am very familiar with the situation in the town, maybe I can help you."
Mr. Fitzgerald smiled, talkative and enthusiastic.
"Actually, I'm looking for an old friend. His name is Martin Smith." Joan said, watching the pub owner casually.
"Oh? So you are Martin's friends!"
The pub owner's eyes lit up and patted his chest, proudly said: "Martin is my nephew, but I watched him grow up!"
He looked up and down about Joan's dress, and he tentatively asked, "Sir, are you also a mage?"
Joan nodded frankly.
The pub owner slapped and said firmly: "You must also be a graduate of Leiden College, an old classmate of Martin, right?"
"I did attend Leiden College, Martin is my senior." Joan answered truthfully.
"This is really great! Dear Mr. Master, Martin would be very happy if he knew that his old classmates came to visit him specially!" The pub owner couldn't help but talk.
Joan sighed in a mixed mood and said to him: "Martin is my senior, you are also Martin's elder, don't be so kind to me."
"You can't say that. Although you are young, you are a distinguished mage after all. I dare not be rude to you." The pub owner said with a smile. "Your black tea and this lady's juice will be treated as my treat, mage. Sir, you must give me this face!"
Joan had long known that the simple country dwellers were in awe of the caster, and had the same tradition in his hometown of Delin.
In fact, most of the country folks who dare to disrespect the Master Master will immediately taste the punishment imposed by magic, and even have no chance of regret, either reduced to the laughing stock of the country, or use their own blood and life to deepen the ordinary people’s Fear.
In contrast, the caster is more constrained in the city and does not dare to act too brazenly.
On the other hand, the magic that is rare in the countryside has been integrated into all aspects of urban life like air-for example, street lights everywhere on the roadside are magic creations.
City residents are well-informed, and clever children from relatives and friends are studying at the Austrian Law School. The city people have been strange to the caster, and of course they will not show special awe.
Joan accepted Fitzgerald's kindness, and thanked him and then asked him: "I haven't contacted Martin for a whole year, how has he been?"
"That's more to say? Martin is the master of Leiden College. This kid is now in his hometown, and his life is of course prosperous!"
Mr. Fitzgerald put his hands on his hips and smiled with pride in his heart.
"After Martin returned to Bucks Town this year, he used his magic to help the folks solve many problems."
"Just talk about the two scoundrels who used to come to my pub to eat and drink! Martin just happened to see them messing up in the pub that day, so he took off a bundle of straw from the wall and threw them at the feet of the two scoundrels. I don’t know what spell it was, hey, guess what?
The pub owner first exaggerated a frightened expression and hung up on the audience's appetite before releasing the puzzle.
"That bale of straw came alive, crawling on like a python, tying up the two half-drunk scoundrels, dragging it out of the door and hanging it upside down on the tree, scaring them to pee their pants on the spot. Never dare to come to the tavern again to make trouble!"
Joan and Ruby looked at each other in a tacit understanding and could not help laughing.
A ring of arcane "activation rope" is not a great magic. However, it is described by the owner of the country tavern. After rendering and rendering, it is just like the legendary story told by the bard.
"Uncle Fitzgerald, Mr. Smith was just elected as the new councillor of this town last week. Don't always preach about his deeds to teach the little hooligan! To a distinguished lord, this is simply not glorious!"
A regular in the pub walked to the bar with a beer mug and joined the chat with a smile.
"Mr. Smith's most remarkable deeds, when the leaders of the town's militia repelled the "Red Hat Thieves"!"
"Our Mr. Smith, throwing two "fireballs" at random, scared away all the evil little monsters. It is worthy of being the master master of Leiden College!"
Ruby listened to the pub owner chatting with the guests, and there was a trace of confusion in his eyes. He turned around and whispered to Joan: "What kind of monster are red hat thieves? It wouldn't be a group of goblins wearing red hats?"
Joan shook his head and told Ruby: "'Red Hat' is not a goblin, it refers to a kind of evil goblin. In my hometown of Alfheim, the number of various goblins may not add up to goblin. !"
