When she reached the door of the cellar, Huo Mian hesitated.
Suddenly, she didn’t dare to open that small square door.
The door was on the ground and she had to grab the handle and pull the door up.
Then she must climb down the black ladder.
Even during the daytime, climbing down the cellar was a scary thing, especially when it was a cellar on an inhabited island.


Inhaling deeply, Huo Mian mustered her courage and pulled up the cellar door abruptly.
Gloomy cold air poured onto her face, making her shiver.
Cautiously, she gripped the flashlight she had taken from her room and climbed down little by little on the ladder.
When she got to the bottom, she was surprised to see that the cellar was very big.
It wasn’t like the small and damp cellars she had seen in the mountainous village.
It was surprisingly dry. With green stones as walls, the cellar couldn’t be called a cellar since it was more luxurious than the basement of a luxurious house.
No wonder Huo Siqian liked to stay here; it was quite cool here.
Huo Mian saw lots of groceries and daily objects which were piled neatly in the basement.
From large boxes of whiskey, Lafite, and champagne to toilet paper and laundry detergent, there was everything in here.
The variety could almost match a small grocery store.


There were lots of unperishable food such as canned ham, fish, and bottled pickles; there were five to six boxes of each.
Huo Mian was a bit surprised.
No wonder Huo Siqian could cook different dishes each day; after all, he had stored so many groceries here.
Huo Mian walked deeper with the flashlight until she saw a small door at the end of the room.
The wall was built with green rocks, but this door was dark red and rusty, looking creepy.
The door wasn’t locked; Huo Mian was curious about what was behind the door.
Shining the door with her flashlight, she pushed open the door abruptly.
She saw another storage room behind the door.
She thought Huo Siqian must have bought this place long ago, because he couldn’t have built such a cellar in a couple of months.
As she thought, she walked deeper.


Then, a faint cough came.
Huo Mian felt her scalp tingle.

Who?! Who’s there?
Huo Mian followed the sound and shone the flashlight in that direction.
She saw a figure curling up in the corner of the room.

Huo Mian, I knew you’d come… Hehe..

The man stood up slowly.
When she shone the light on the man’s face, she felt her hair stand on end.
It was so creepy.
This man was actually Huo Siqian, the man whom she thought had already left the island.
Why did he lock himself in here?


Instantly, lots of questions arose in her mind.

Why… why are you here?
Huo Mian asked him, trying hard to stay calm.

Why are you here?
he asked.

I thought you left the island. So, I came down to find food as there’s no food up in the cottage,
said Huo Mian.

Oh, I see…
He nodded and didn’t look surprised.
As Huo Mian remained silent, Huo Siqian beckoned at her and smiled.
Huo Mian, come here.


Why?
Huo Mian looked at him warily; instead of walking forward, she took two steps back instinctively.

I sprained my ankle and can’t walk. Can you help me?
he said with a smile.
