The crowd erupted as the Warriors chanted their motto, almost as if they were the ones playing in the tournament.
This is so exciting! I thought that this would be a private match.
Who would’ve thought that Moonlight was better than Deadly Golden Underwear?
the players that favored Peerless City muttered. Moonlight was a very meticulous player and he had obviously planned his strategy ahead of time. He managed to completely destroy Deadly Golden Underwear and had clearly left an impression in his mind.
Peerless City sent out Immortal to finish off the Warrior with only a third of his HP left.
Without his defensives, burst spells, and having most of his skills on cooldown, if Immortal was unable to defeat Moonlight, she should retire out of the professional scene.
She used to be in Peacetime Dynasty, but was offered a large sum of money by Peerless City and decided to jump ship. She was obviously a skilled player if Peerless City was willing to pay for her to join them and so was able to send Moonlight off, only losing 20% of her HP.
When Moonlight returned, Lu Li gave him a nod of acknowledgement and went out onto the stage.
Lu Li’s favorite class to hunt were Mages. They did not have an excessive number of crowd control skills and no matter how high their damage was, as soon as Lu Li was able to land a stun, the fight would be over.
However, Square Root Three had discussed something with Lu Li prior to the match.
He expressed the fact that Lu Li’s matches were very boring to watch. The match against Elevenless was very drawn out and the matches against Blue Universe were too clinical.
From a spectator’s point of view, Moonlight’s last fight was much more interesting to watch.
Square Root Three wanted to come up with a way to make the fights more interesting and dangerous for Lu Li without affecting the outcome.
Lu Li was a simple man. As a child growing up in poverty, he had always been looking for ways to make more money and would do anything to fill up his pockets a bit more.
Therefore, when Lu Li entered the arena, instead of going into Stealth mode immediately, Lu Li greeted Immortal.
He raised his hand to wave at her, wanting to stir up a conversation. However, he had always been socially awkward, especially with girls and simply said,
Let’s have a good fight.
Square Root Three face-palmed in the stands and regretted ever bringing this up to Lu Li.
Did Lu Li have a thing for Immortal? If he wanted to greet her, he could just do it normally. Why did he have to make it so awkward?
Immortal was taken aback as well. She had watched many tapes of Lu Li’s matches and most of the time, he would immediately go into Stealth and look for opportunities to burst down the enemy. He would only usually greet those that were close to him. Immortal was starting to wonder whether Lu Li had a thing for her…
Lu Li was so talented and was able to challenge Sorrowless at such a young age. He was definitely easy on the eyes as well, but older sister Water Fairy…
Eh? She had been attacked?
As Immortal was having an internal dialogue with herself, Lu Li had already Stealthed behind her and bursted her before she could even summon her pet.
Despicable!
Azure Sea Breeze laughed as he slapped his thighs.
What the hell?!
Wandering didn’t know whether to praise or scold Lu Li.
…
Square Root Three was speechless. All he wanted to do was to be by himself.
Immortal was not expecting this at all and before she could react, she was already sent out of the arena. Lu Li felt his cold heart pounding away.
Green Flag Wine was his next opponent.
Green Flag Wine was a notorious staller in the gaming scene. No Thief would want to go up against a Paladin, even Lu Li, who was the best Thief in the game. There was almost nothing he could do to win because it was such a hard counter.
Green Wine Flag ended up with the win, but Lu Li did a good job of taking down his HP.
Fat Monkey from Ruling Sword was up next and easily defeated the low-HP Green Wine Flag. Lu Li had almost taken out two players by himself.
Both teams kept exchanging players for the rest of the match and it was very entertaining for the spectators.
Ruling Swords defeated 5 players and Peerless City defeated 4, meaning that the score was currently 5:4 in favor of Ruling Sword.
The Team Deathmatch was the most important match because those were the fights where one team could pull away in points.
As the Home team, Peerless City got to choose a map out of the 9 maps that is available.
There were hundred of maps available for Team Deathmatches, but only 9 were selected by the tournament officials. It was impossible for teams to learn the hundreds of maps available in the game.
Therefore, there was a pool of maps that were often used in tournament settings. This meant that Ruling Sword has had a chance to practice on each map, though some more than others.
Peerless City quickly made their decisions – Dustwallow Marsh.
The Dustwallow Marsh in tournament was different from the actual Dustwallow Marsh in the Wild, but there were still many similarities.
There was the same disgusting stench, while the ground was muddy and difficult to walk on. There was some grass, reeds and willow trees and the atmosphere was very humid and moist. Fire damage skills were weakened in this map and it was harder for Thieves to Stealth around because of the ground.
The three girls, March Rain, Kitty Loves Meat and Sakura Memories were on the edge of tearing up when they saw the map that Peerless City had chosen.
Even Lu Li was impressed at the map because it was very disadvantageous for Ruling Swords.
This is nothing!
Sakura Memories declared bravely, trying to encourage the other girls.
Sakura Memories was actually less talented than March Rain and Kitty Loves Meat. She was only a part of the tournament team because she was one of the original players who was there from the very beginning. If more star players were to join Ruling Sword, her position on the team would be in danger.
As such, she worked a lot harder than the other players.
March Rain looked like a very soft and vulnerable girl on the outside, but she actually had a very strong and determined heart. As for Kitty Loves Meat, although she was a bit spoiled, she knew that this was all a part of being a professional player.
Lu Li made some changes to the lineup and entered the tournament map.
