The problem was that it was difficult to find the perfect position to stand on. The Boss’ attacks were not perfectly symmetrical every time – there were always variations in width, range and target. The Boss also walked around a lot, making his attacks more unpredictable. After the fifth wipe, Glory Capital had already reached the Wolf’s Den.
They had butterflies in their stomachs because they were afraid of hearing the news of Ruling Sword completing the First Clear again. Ever since September last year when the game had just released and Ruling Sword were able to First Clear the Spider Nest, there had been countless times where similar news had been announced.
Besides some Wild Bosses and some Private Dungeons, most of the public dungeon First Clears belonged to Ruling Sword.
This might have been the reason why no one was surprised when Ruling Sword made it into the Final Four. It would be quite unlikely that another new Major Guild could manage to make it into the Top Four.
Sorrowless knew that he had to do something to stop Ruling Sword from taking another First Clear.
Besides the pro players, Glory Capital was focused on recruiting more players into their strategy team. After the competition was over, they planned on focusing all their resources into recruiting more strategy-focused players and has already been in contact with some of the best strategists in the game.
We’re doing much better than before,
Lu Li encouraged his team members as they entered into stage three.
He wasn’t worried about Glory Capital being ahead of them because he was confident that they could defeat Overlord Wyrmthalak. Glory Capital would eventually face the same struggles that Ruling Sword faced anyway.
Why is the Boss always moving around?
Everyone was tired from following the Boss around while maintaining their DPS.
Calm down. It’ll most likely be smooth sailing after we get past this.
Lu Li was troubled. He had other strategies up his sleeve but they either didn’t have the items for it or it would be too obvious because he would be abusing a bug.
All they could do was to put their heads down and attack the Boss.
After several attempts, they finally reached the end. After the Boss used its ultimate skill, Wyrmthalak finally went into critical HP and there were still six players left.
Azure Sea Breeze managed to survive unlike the previous runs, while Mu Qiu and March Rain were the only healers left alive. The DPS classes included Lu Li, Kitty Likes Meat and Jaweika. This lineup was actually perfect. They still had the Main Tank and two healers to support him, while the three DPS players were some of the most powerful in the party.
We can do it!
Kitty Likes Meat yelled as she jumped out of range of the Boss’ attack, narrowly escaping her death.
Cat Dad loved his daughter, but he was very strict on her training and never let her off easily. This was why her fundamentals were a lot better than a player like Fat Monkey. Fat Monkey tended to make silly mistakes when he lost focus over time as the fight dragged on, but Kitty Likes Meat was able to stay resilient and fight through to the end.
Everyone play safe. Azure Sea Breeze, do not die; remember to activate your defensives. The Boss still has quite a bit of HP left,
Lu Li said.
I’m trying to save my defensives for the enraged state!
Azure Sea Breeze shouted.
Worry about that later. If you die now, then we’ll have absolutely no hope. Jaweika, you’re standing too close; increase the gap between you and the Boss. The two Mages should play safe, but make sure you keep the DPS up.
Lu Li was now the main DPS because the Boss was more vulnerable to physical damage, especially with his high completion rate.
The special effects that comes with high completion of his skills did not work on Bosses, but the damage was significantly higher.
Fortunately, Wyrmthalak doesn’t have much healing, but the enraged state was approaching. As soon as he dropped below 5% HP, he became enraged.
Wyrmthalak’s attack increased by 50% and his critical rate and attack speed also increased significantly.
Lu Li decided to run back a little in order to stay alive.
He had left a lot of tricks up his sleeve for this exact moment. He hadn’t even used The Book of Ur, Gale Step and his other important skills.
Azure Sea Breeze was mad when he saw Lu Li running away because he had no choice but to stay and tank the Boss, praying that he wasn’t killed randomly. He was hoping to stay alive since this was the last Boss and he really wanted the EXP from killing him.
Lu Li avoided the Boss’ attack and immediately appeared behind his back.
He unleashed a flurry of skills onto the Boss and when the Boss turned around, he disappeared and ran away again. When the Boss aggro’d back onto Azure Sea Breeze, he immediately jumped onto it.
He needed to keep up the high DPS that he was dishing out because Azure Sea Breeze couldn’t tank his enraged state for too long.
As long as Azure Sea Breeze doesn’t die too early then it would be fine. Otherwise, with Lu Li and the two Mages left, it would be impossible for them to defeat him.
Lu Li was forced to use Gale Steps because Jaweika was killed. He wanted to save this skill until the very end but had no other choice.
It was impossible for Kitty Likes Meat to defeat him alone since he was one of the strongest Boss in Blackrock Tower. Lu Li began dealing crazy amounts of DPS with the Book of Ur, critical buffs as well as the buff from Gale Steps.
Wyrmthalak began aggroing onto Lu Li because of the damage, even though Azure Sea Breeze kept using taunt on it.
Azure Sea Breeze no longer cared about staying alive because defeating the Boss was more important than getting EXP.
Unfortunately, his taunt was ignored because Lu Li was doing too much damage.
Lu Li put everything on the line and took advantage of the 1 second invulnerability from Gale Steps to dish out damage. After 1 second, he remained there and continued combining all sorts of ultimate skills. One of them managed to critically hit the Boss.
Kitty Likes Meat was planning to transform into a demon, but because of Lu Li’s critical hit, she managed to take out the Boss and dealt the final blow.
System: Congratulations to Ruling Sword members Mu Qiu, Kitty Likes Meat, Azure Sea Breeze, Fat Monkey, March Rain, Moonlight, Sakura Memory, Sesame Rice Ball, Lonesome Flower, Nuo Yu, Jaweika, Hachi Chan, Remnant Dream and Wandering, who under the leadership of Lu Li have completed the First Clear for Blackrock Tower on Nightmare mode!
The news was announced in world chat and Lu Li gained a skill point as a reward.
The EXP rewards were handed out as well as some popularity points.
