Yanfen Caotang and Xijian Caotang are both Jiang Guangzhan's library buildings. The Yanfen Caotang site is located in Donghe Street (formerly known as South Main Street) beside Tongjin Bridge, Kishi Town, Haining City, Zhejiang Province. It was built around the end of Qianlong in the style of Sunan Hall. The Yanfen Caotang building was originally a base and a high-grade iron gate, which was very strong. Going backwards is the "Shuangfeng Stone Room", and the plaque is Jiang Guangzhan's handwriting (seal script). Jiang Guangzhan still has a three-story book library behind the Jiang's ancestral hall in the west street of Jiushi Lane, storing the second generation of ancient books of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The Xijian Caotang Bookstore is located in the town of Lianpu in Haiyan County. It faces Beihu to the west and Xijian to the left. It was originally the Jiangning Tomb of Haining. It is a five-story and five-story Jiangnan residential building. It was built in the Qing Dynasty during the light years. 'Haichang Jiang's Bingshe', Shi'e and Shi's couplets "Wancangshan connects North Hubei, and Xiufeng is near Xijianxi." The original scriptures of Jiang Guangzhan in the Xijian Thatched Cottage were originally collected in the Xianfeng years. .
Jiang Guangzhan, the owner of the Yanfen Caotang Bookstore, had the words Yin Fang, No. Yinfang, and No. 1 Jingzhai. The ancestor of the Jiang family started as a business, and the family was rich, creating favorable material conditions for the collection of books. There are hundreds of thousands of books in the collection, among which there are few rare books and rare ones.
When the book collection in Yanfen Caotang was moved to Xijian Caotang, Haiyan Zhu Jiayu (Zixin) once edited a copy of "Xijian Caotang Bibliography", which contained a total of 1,605 books and 24,813 volumes in its collection. Among them, there are 25, 238 volumes of Song Periodicals, 27, 482 volumes of Yuan Periodicals, 26, 1213 volumes of Ming Periodicals, 146, 955 volumes of manuscripts and copybooks, and they are stored in Haining County Library. Later, Jiang Guangyan's secondary grandson, Jiang Qin Xu, also compiled three volumes of "Yuan Guan Jiang Yan Yan Fen Cao Tang Bibliography". Hou Qin Xu's younger brother Peng (Keng You) also made a supplement for the supplement. The bibliography is very detailed on the editions, volumes (volumes) of each book, the number of characters on each page and the imprint of the bibliophile, and the inscriptions of celebrities. Jiang Guangzhan is not only a well-known bibliophile, but also a publisher. The library building of Yanfen Caotang has gone through many vicissitudes, but it is still largely preserved so far. In the 1950s, Haining City carried out a waterlogging project and demolished the two front halls of Yanfen Caotang, namely Baoyi Tang and Wuyanzhai. At present, there are five halls including Yanfen Caotang Bookstore and Yizhiju, Beiyuan Xiashan Tower, Sibu Qunzhai, and Shuangfeng Stone Room. The Xijian Thatched Cottage has been in disrepair for a long time. In 1984, the People's Government of Haiyan County allocated special funds to repair it according to its original appearance. The famous scholar Yu Pingbo supplemented the "Xijian Caotang" plaque; the Shanghai library director Gu Tinglong inscribed the "Yixiu Pavilion"; the famous ancient architecture and gardening expert Chen Congzhou also inscribed the Xijian Caotang. Yanfen Caotang and Xijian Caotang were listed as municipal and county cultural protection units in 1984 and 1986, respectively.
Although the book collections in the two library buildings have gone through many wars such as the Revolution of 1911 and the War of Resistance Against Japan, the descendants of the Jiang family will remain stubborn and deserved, so they will be treasured. After the founding of New China, Jiang Pengqian, a descendant of the Jiang family, donated all his old books to the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Management Committee. It is now stored in Beijing Library, Shanghai Library and Zhejiang Library.
