Wu-wu~

From the top of the huge volcano, molten lava shot out. Along with it came a loud roar. A huge mantis-like beast flew out. It resembled a mantis mostly because it had six legs and a long, skinny body. Its entire body was red. Its two front legs were not exactly legs, however. Instead, they looked more like sickles.
The two legs were, in fact, no different from two black sickles. As the beast waved them around, the space began to fluctuate wildly, emitting sharp noises. The beast’s head, however, was different from a mantis head. It was also different from ordinary beasts. It was human-shaped. If its eyes were not triangular, Jiang Yi would think that the beast was just a mutated person.

Wuu-wuu!

The beast flew out from inside the volcano. Its pair of triangular eyes scanned its surroundings coldly, locking its gaze on the Divine Boat in the distance almost immediately. The Divine Boat had restrictions on it, and it contained at least twenty people’s aura inside. The aura caused the beast’s eyes to redden at once. Crying out to the heavens, it jumped with its four hind legs. Its blood-red body turned into a red flash of light, cutting through the air and towards the Divine Boat.

Ancient-Grade Chaos Beast!

Luo Ting and company realized this when the beast’s power surrounded them. Luo Ting’s face drained of all color. At that moment, he realized a problem. From a young age, he had grown up in a great family clan. He was born with a good sense of all types of schemes and tricks. Very quickly, he recalled everything that had happened so far and immediately understood the trap that was set up. The purpose of this entire trap was so that the Ancient-Grade Chaos Beast would kill him!
Jiang Yi was the bait. Given his ability, he would not be able to afford the Rootless Water and China Root Elixir for sure. There must have been someone acting as the real mastermind behind all of this. It was no longer important what this mastermind’s true motive was. What was most important was that Luo Ting could not die. Thus, he cried out from deep in his gut,
Stop that thing! Everyone, go and stop that thing! If I die, all of you will perish, too!

Kill!

Luo Ting’s words seemed to activate everyone at once. He was right. If he was kept alive, the rest might have a chance of surviving. Thus, all of them tried their hardest to stop the beast. They shot forward crazily, in an effort to hold back this formidable beast. They wanted to buy Luo Ting some time so that Uncle Lu would be able to come back with back-up.
Buzz!
The Divine Boat flickered. Apart from the God General who was steering the Divine Boat, everyone else flew out toward the huge beast which measured about thirty meters in length. Their gaze was determined. No one would be able to survive against an Ancient-Grade Chaos Beast. Even if Uncle Lu took this beast on, he would surely not be able to kill it.
Everyone’s weapons appeared in their hands as they activated each of their strongest nomological mystical abilities. However, before they could attack the beast, it spat out a ball of blood-red flames. The moment those flames appeared, everybody’s heavenly powers became messed up. The terrifyingly high temperatures caused their blood to boil. Their entire bodies felt overwhelmed with pain. They became short of breath. As they writhed around in mid-air, not one of them was able to continue attacking the beast.
Swish! Swish!
The Chaos Beast cried out once again. The two front legs which resembled black sickle measuring three meters in length kept striking aggressively. The sound of whipping and tearing filled the air. A group of God Generals had their bodies sliced in half. Even the battle armor that they had on could not do much to protect them. Only one peak-stage God General possessed a medial-grade battle armor, which managed to block him from a single blow. Still, he ended up being crushed by the beast’s unparalleled power. At last, the flames and high temperatures turned him into a piece of barbecued meat.
In a blink of an eye, more than twenty God Generals were killed.
The power of the Ancient-Grade Chaos Beast caused Luo Ting and the last God General to tremble helplessly. A God General stood no chance against this huge beast’s flames. Even its sickle-like front legs were frightening. Luo Ting was scared out of his wits. All he could do was scream,
Uncle Lu, save me!

Bang!
Not far from him, molten lava kept spewing out of the volcano in all directions. A figure shot out in anger. The moment he appeared, he shouted,
Beast, your opponent is me!

It was a pity… the Ancient-Grade Chaos Beast did not spare him even a glance. It had a bit of intelligence, but it saw no difference between different people. There were two humans in front of it while there was only one behind it. It decided to lock in on the two humans in front of it; otherwise, it would have to travel a greater distance to obtain fewer results. Thus, it kept waving its sickle-like front legs toward the Divine Boat.
Bang!
The Divine Boat’s defense was quite strong, but the Chaos Beast’s flames had already weakened the Divine Boat’s defense considerably. A single strike from the Chaos Beast this time almost completely tore the Divine Boat into two. Wood flew in all directions in the air. On seeing the two ruthless sickles traveling toward him, Luo Ting shouted out indignantly,
No!

Bang!
The last God General’s body was cut into two, and blood spurted in all directions. Luo Ting had medial-grade divine artifact battle armor on him so his body was not cut into two. However, the strength of the sickles was too huge. As they struck down had on his head, the impact instantly crushed his brains into pieces.
His skills were not considered bad. However, he had too little practical fighting experience. At the last moment, he neither dodged nor tried to defend himself. All he knew to do was cry out in fear. If he had dodged the sickles or at least employed defensive powers, perhaps he would still have been alive.

Young Clan Head!

Uncle Lu, who had been tearing through the air to get to him, stopped in mid-air. He stared at Luo Ting, whose head blew open like a broken cloth bag. With his divine senses, he felt the life slowly leave Luo Ting’s body. As if he himself had lost his soul, he looked on in a dazed fashion.
He knew that everything was over. He and his family were finished. Whether all of these things were planned or were purely accidental—according to the Luo Clan’s rules, Luo Ting’s death meant that his entire family would be punished with death as well.

Wuu-wuu!

The Chaos Beasts were crying out and charging towards him now, but Uncle Lu had no reaction whatsoever. He did not even have any intention to kill the Chaos Beast. So what if he could defeat this beast? Could he revive Luo Ting? Could he save himself or his family?
Still, he quickly regained his composure. He still had some hope of survival: he had to find evidence to prove that all of these things had been set up by one person. He had to find the mastermind. His gaze hardened and turned cold. Suddenly, he shouted out,
Kill—!

He did not try to kill the Ancient-Grade Chaos Beast in front of him; neither did he go inside the Fire Lake to look for Jiang Yi. Instead, he charged toward the volcano. He heard an explosive sound coming from the volcano earlier on. It was obvious that someone did this on purpose. They wanted to lure this Ancient-Grade Chaos Beast out. That was why he had to find this person. He had to either take him down or kill him. That was the only way to prove that someone was behind all of this. That was his only hope of pleading for clemency from the Luo Clan. That was his only chance of survival.
Buzz!
He stretched the battle sword in his hand once again, causing it to grow tens of meters in length. Then, he struck down hard on the Chaos Beast, which had been charging toward him ruthlessly. The ten or so Chaos Beasts in the Fire Lake were coming after him now as well. He waved the sword left and right, doing all that he could. He tried his best not to be caught in a battle with the Chaos Beasts. His only goal was to force them to retreat. As fast as he could, he advanced towards the volcano. At the same time, he used his divine senses to search for his target.

There is someone there indeed!

Motivated by his will to survive, the cogs in his mind turned at top speed. He found a clue near the volcano. At the same time, he followed the clue to find a formidable martial artist in hiding.
That formidable martial artist was very good at disguising techniques. When his divine senses swept past the area, he seemed to detect only a bunch of rocks. There did not seem to be any sign of life. However, a mistake gave the man away. This volcano erupted frequently. Rocks would not exist near such volcanoes.

Keke!

Under the scrutiny of Uncle Lu’s divine senses, the rocks suddenly moved. They lit up and turned into an elderly man with white hair and white eyebrows. The elderly man flew toward Uncle Lu, smiling nonchalantly.
Uncle Lu, give it up. You must die today!
