Chapter 71: Christmas

The "farce" that morning gave Matthew Wickfield some important information.
First of all, the book was not as "omnipotent" as he had previously imagined.
Perhaps Professor Horace Slughorn’s previous judgment is correct...It is indeed a "weak" mysterious side black magic item that has attacked the Toad in the Broken Cauldron Bar and Draco. After Malfoy, it lost its power.
Perhaps, he has a special "meaning" to it, so it has been reluctant to attack itself.
In short, Matthew no longer has to worry about losing his life inadvertently.
In addition, during the "conversation" with that book, Matthew also discovered one thing:
Through various channels, you can learn about some things happening around you.
   But certainly not through myself.
Because it can’t even touch its own memory
That book, in order to tempt him, put forward three conditions.
The source of all Hogwarts attacks, Matthew doesn't need to know, he already has a lot of clues himself.
And Grindelwald's true face, he even sneered, without any interest.
As for learning powerful magic through a self-conscious book, Matthew believes that as long as a wizard with a normal mind will not believe this.
If that book really understands oneself, it would not put forward these three conditions that are not alluring to Matthew Wickfield.
As he locked the book in the drawer, Matthew became relaxed.
Faced with this "worrisome affliction" that had besieged him for four months, now he finally saw a burst of light.
  ……
At dinner, when Matthew came to the auditorium, he found that it had changed a lot.
Twelve sparkling Christmas trees surround the auditorium; in the sky, countless ribbons are flying; there is also enchanted snow, warm and dry, slowly falling from the ceiling...
What is more striking is that the last long table was also moved to the corner, replaced by a huge round table that can hold almost thirty or forty people.
Grindelwald, Rozier, Slughorn, Flitwick, Sinistera and Professor Sprout all sat at the round table, and of course the administrator Mr. Pringle.
The rest of the positions on the round table are prepared for the students; the total number of students staying at Hogwarts in each grade is almost exactly thirty.
The students who came to the auditorium first got together hesitantly, looking at everything in front of them in surprise.
"Merry Christmas, children!" Principal Gellert Grindelwald said with a smile: "Vita came up with such a great idea to make our Christmas more atmosphere... Sit down, just sit down!"
Then everyone walked forward and sat down in twos and threes.
Matthew sat far away from Professor Grindelwald.
Within ten minutes, everyone was there.
Matthew's left is Hufflepuff's Justin Finley, the right is Gryffindor's Hermione Granger, and the right is Harry Evans.
"First, some Christmas presents!" Professor Grindelwald shouted happily.
He waved his hand gently, and a lot of colorful firecrackers fell from the sky.
One of them fell in front of Matthew, and Matthew gently pulled it, and then only heard a loud explosion. Matthew and a few people around were engulfed in a light green smoke.
At the same time, a heavy bearskin hat fell into Matthew's hands, and Matthew put it on his head, instantly feeling very warm, and at the same time feeling that he was a little bit downright under pressure.
Mr. Pringle immediately pulled a colorful firecracker, more than ten fleshy bones exploded out of it, and Mr. Tang hurriedly rushed over excitedly.
And Professor Grindelwald is leading a few girls, singing his favorite Christmas carols.
Professor Slughorn drank a large glass of eggnog, and then hiccuped; Professor Rozier cast a stern look at him.
The Christmas banquet is more abundant than expected.
Twenty plump roasted turkeys, piles of roasted meats and baked potatoes, lifelike tree trunk cakes, bowls of emerald green peas, large plates of prosciutto and small sausages...
For Matthew, it was the first time he attended such a banquet.
After the turkey, there is a red Christmas pudding.
Hermione Granger was eating, and she suddenly covered her teeth, and then slowly spit out a silver sikor from her mouth.
"Oh, my God." She exclaimed, "I almost broke my teeth."
Professor Grindelwald took the lead, everyone looked at Hermione and began to applaud.
The entire auditorium suddenly burst into thunderous applause.
"Thank you..." Hermione lowered her head in embarrassment.
Whether Muggles or wizards make puddings at Christmas, they put a silver Sico silver coin (Muggles are sixpence silver coins) into the pudding ingredients. On Christmas night, whoever can find six pence in his pudding cake will be regarded as having wealth and good luck in the coming year.
Professor Slughorn drank eggnog a cup, his face flushed.
Professor Rozier's pointed black top hat is tilted to the side, impolite.
Professor Flitwick is standing on the stool and singing loudly...
The entire auditorium ~EbookFREE.me~ is like a big family at this time, and it is full of joy.
  ……
The dinner lasted for two hours, until everyone was filled with all kinds of food.
Professor Grindelwald left half an hour ago. After he left, some students also left scattered.
Justin Finley also slowly left the round table, holding a lot of gadgets exploded from the colorful firecrackers in his arms.
Matthew also picked up his heavy bearskin hat and followed.
   "Finley!" Matthew shouted.
"Hello, Wakefield... I can hardly walk anymore." Justin Finley replied.
During the banquet, the two chatted casually for a while, and they seemed to be familiar with each other.
   "Me too." Matthew nodded.
Slytherin and Hufflepuff’s common room are both in the basement, and they have a short walk along the way.
After walking for about half a minute, Matthew asked nonchalantly: "I remember the first day of your Christmas holiday. What was criticized by Professor Sprout and Professor Rozier?"
"Yes." Justin Finley said uncomfortably, "I was at the Two Broomsticks Bar that day, accidentally fell asleep, and was late when I returned to the castle..."
"So..." Matthew asked faintly, "Then in Hogsmeade that day, have you ever seen a witch wearing a thick black scarf..."
"The witch in the thick black scarf...The witch in the thick black scarf..." Justin Finley murmured, his eyes turned a little blurred.
Suddenly, he covered his head in pain, and the gadgets in his hands were scattered all over the floor:
   "Sorry, Wakefield...I...I don't remember anything..."
